"Alright, everyone! Take your seats and buckle up! We're off to New Mexico to find the elusive Chupacabra!" — Phineas[src] |
The Chupa-Copter is a helicopter built by Phineas and Ferb to help them look for the Chupacabra.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb hear Buford's story of his ancestor's escapade at New Mexico, wherein the Chupacabra was seen. This inspires the boys to hunt for the creature, constructing a vehicle for the task. Before they begin the flight, Baljeet wonders about the bait, inciting Buford to reveal his goat costume. Settled, the kids try out the machine's sensors for identifying beast traits, having Candace as a test subject.
Arriving at New Mexico, the boys lower Buford to put the lure plan into effect. Taking the chance, Baljeet drives the helicopter into a couple of cacti, hurting the former as vengeance for bullying. The four of them continue their traverse of the arid desert, looking out for the Chupacabra as they go. Amidst the voyage, they spot the mythical beast rummaging nearby, and attract it into a trap hole to catch it.
The kids land the helicopter close by as they move to check on the creature. Departing from the dry state, they carry the Chupacabra in a box, leaving it in the backyard right before concluding their flight. While they go get food for the beast, Perry frees his fellow agent from captivity, letting it take the aircraft to escape whilst maintaining its elusive image ("La Candace-Cabra").
Design[]
The Chupa-Copter is an insect-shaped grey aircraft with two grey wings, four light grey legs, four black wheels, two tailplanes, a backside booster, two yellow headlamps that simulate eyes, and several white gears throughout its body. Inside, there are two brown pilot seats, one brown back seat, two black steering controls, and a white panel.
Mechanics[]
The Chupa-Copter is able to fly like a regular helicopter, in spite of its unusual design. It has a lower opening containing a wire, enabling the passengers to carry an item with ease. For identification, it features a control panel that searches for creatures with the same traits as the Chupacabra, returning a negative if the target is not the beast, and locating it in the case that it is the legendary animal.
Background Information[]
- When Phineas presents the Chupa-Copter, he greets Buford and Baljeet as "gentlemen and gentlemen", alluding to the fact that there are only males for the adventure.
- According to the computer, the Chupacabra's main traits are his rooting, sniffing, long neck, and desert dwelling.
- Candace is nearly misidentified as the creature due to the device catching her while she is testing different apparel, leading it to associate the first three characteristics with her.
- The messages shown by the computer upon target inspection are "Not Chupacabra" and "Target Located" for failure and successful situations, respectively.
- The Chupa-Copter's computer has a voice that reads out its commands and results, provided by Dan Povenmire.
