Saul is supposedly an explorer who guides Linda and Lawrence through a cave.
Biography[]
Linda gives Candace old items from the attic and heads out for spelunking, which she explains is a journey of self-discovery while crawling around in a hole. In the caverns, Saul prepares to begin the exploration. Lawrence expresses enthusiasm in the activity, confusing the explorer, who clarifies that there is no self-reflection, and that his name is supposed to be in the ad instead of the word "soul".
After some exploring, Saul tells Linda and Lawrence about his knowledge of animals. As a test, he shows them a salamander and asks if they see anything unusual. Lawrence points out the lack of gills, surprising the explorer. While Saul cleans his hands, Lawrence mentions to Linda that the animal also didn't have any eyes.
Later, Saul attempts to pass through a hole. Getting stuck, he suggests he has to saw his arm off, but is quickly pulled out by his guests, who question his authenticity as a guide. With the tour complete, Linda and Lawrence lead Saul out of the cave. Delighted, he kneels and kisses the ground. His guests then leave as he accidentally smooches a bug ("Phineas and Ferb Save Summer").
Physical appearance[]
Saul is light-skinned and has light brown hair. He wears a light blue shirt, blue overalls, a black belt with a light blue frame, black boots, a yellow hard hat with a headlamp, and five brown ropes.
Personality[]
He is enthusiastic and somewhat impulsive. While exploring, he maintains an energetic attitude, which leads him to make rash decisions, such as touching a potentially venomous animal and going through a dangerously narrow space.
Relationships[]
At first, Linda and Lawrence are looking forward to partaking in the activity with Saul, but they become upset after learning that no self-discovery would happen. In the end, they have concerns about Saul's skills, leaving him alone without further questions.
Background Information[]
- Saul commits two errors during the exploration. He implies that salamanders are gastropods, when they are in fact amphibians, and confuses a hole with two mineral formations, stalactites and stalagmites.
