Phineas and Ferb Wiki

We're gonna solve the mystery of the Danville crop circles!

— Phineas Flynn

Phineas and Ferb create their own flying saucer to help solve the mystery of a recent rash of crop circles. Meanwhile, Candace tries to give up her tattling habit by taking a "me" day, and across town, Dr. Doofenshmirtz challenges the local pizzeria's "37 minutes or it's free" rule by using his "Dough-Blow-inator" to generate a powerful current of air to hold the pizza dough aloft indefinitely.

Episode Summary[]

Candace pours herself some cereal with milk. Linda comes in and asks her what she is going to do, and Candace explains that she is going to take a "me" day.

Meanwhile, Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, Buford, and Baljeet are at the Flynn-Fletcher Antiques store. Phineas notices the UFO poster on the wall, and Lawrence asks them if they've seen the Danville crop circles. Isabella states that many assume they were produced by spaceships, which Buford does not believe. After Lawrence leaves, Phineas suggests that they solve the mystery of the Danville crop circles.

Perry sneaks off to get his briefing from a Major Monogram puppet. Major Monogram sings Perry's briefing, but he gets embarrassed and dismisses Perry. Back at the Flynn-Fletcher house, Candace settles down on the couch. She notices Phineas and Ferb building a UFO in the backyard, but resists the urge to bust them.

At Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated, Doofenshmirtz traps Perry in a chef's hat and explains to him that a local pizzeria, Rocco's Pizza, has a "37 minutes or it's free" policy. However, one fateful day, the owner, Rocco, has him pay full price even though Heinz made sure to wait. He later seeks revenge and decides to set up explosive pizza dough in the pizzeria, but it is turned into an exploding pizza special. Doofenshmirtz then reveals, under his lab coat, the Dough-Blow-inator. He plans to challenge Rocco to a "dough duel" at the Pizza Day Festival and humiliate him.

In the backyard, the gang take off in a spaceship. They continue their investigation on the Danville crop circles, passing a farmer, who sees the UFO and shouts. The kids see more of the same crop circles and believe that there is a pattern. As the kids fly over Danville, everyone thinks a UFO invasion is about to begin. At the Flynn-Fletcher home, Candace is watching a soap opera. Her show is interrupted with breaking news about Phineas and Ferb's UFO, but she returns to her programs.

At the Pizza Day Festival, Rocco amazes the crowd with his skills by making his dough into different shapes. Doofenshmirtz comes and challenges him to a dough-duel. Rocco accepts and tells Heinz that if he wins, he will give him free pizza for life, but if he wins Doofenshmirtz can't order pizza from him again.

Meanwhile, the kids pass the last crop circles. They check the map and see only one place that doesn't have a crop circle, so they decide to head there. At the same time, Stacy tells Candace about the supposed alien invasion, but Candace continues watching television.

As the kids fly toward their destination, they hit the Pizza Day Festival sign, causing Perry's trap-hat to fall off of Doofenshmirtz's head, leading to his escape. As they're about to start their duel, Perry sneaks behind him and switches the Dough-Blow-inator's setting from "blow" to "suck", causing it to suck in everything nearby. The Dough-Blow-inator then explodes, resulring in Doofenshmirtz losing the competition.

The kids reach their destination, and Buford finds a key that he uses to scratch his head. They recognize the key as the same shape as the crop circle. Suddenly, a UFO arrives and takes the key, and the aliens tell them the crop circles are marked areas for not finding the key. The aliens thank them for finding the key and say their goodbyes.

Back the Flynn-Fletcher house, Linda gives Candace a pizza that she ordered. Candace later sees the gang arriving in the backyard with the UFO spaceship. As she opens the pizza, it explodes and covers the window. Linda comes by, but she only sees the kids due to the pizza covering the view. In the evening, Candace wakes up and sees the spaceship still in the backyard, but she goes back to sleep.

I know what we're gonna do today/Hey, where's Perry?[]

Phineas: I know what we're gonna do today: We're gonna solve the mystery of the Danville crop circles. Hey, where's Perry?

Oh, there you are, Perry[]

Linda: It's all the rage with the foodies. Oh, there's Phineas and Ferb. Hi, boys! (She waves and the gang waves back.)

The "Too Young" Line[]

Man on the street: There were these creatures. One had this crazy triangle head, and the other looked like a sideways "T".
Gordon Gutsofanemu: Sounds horrifying.
Man on the street: It was. They don't look human at all.
Gordon Gutsofanemu: (Over an artist's recreation of what looks like Phineas and Ferb) No. No they don't.
Rocco: Is everybody having a good time?
Doofenshmirtz: No, no we're not! We're having a rotten time, you stingy jerk!

Ferb's Line[]

None.

What'cha doin'?[]

None.

Perry's entrance to his lair[]

He is briefed by Monogram in a puppet show inside the Flynn-Fletcher Antiques.

Memorable Quotes[]

Buford: I don't believe in space ships!

Isabella: But Buford, you've been in a space ship. Several, actually.

Buford: I'm a skeptic.
Buford: His words confuse me.
Phineas: Dad can be like that.
(a knock at the door)
Doofenshmirtz: (slowly glides feet along door, checking watch while doing so) I'm coming. (knocks) I'm getting there. (knocking continues) Almost there. (knocking) Gonna be there soon. (opens door, Rocco holds out hand) Can you believe he made me pay, anyway?
Farmer: Well, what do you know? I'm not crazy after all! (to backhoe) Oh, yeah?! Well nobody asked you, Farm Utensil Bob!
Candace: (sighs) Listen, Stacy. Me day. No bust, no blow up in face! FACE!
Stacy: (on phone) Well, now that you've put it crazy...
Rocco: You must be very fun at the parties, huh? (with American accent) But seriously, don't order my pizzas again, okay?
Doofenshmirtz Okay, deal. Curse you, Perry the Platypus!:
Candace: (after the pizza has blown up in her face) So, that's what they mean by exploding pizza.

  • When Candace is watching the UFO news, one of the news channels is in Spanish and incorrectly calls it "el U.F.O.". The Spanish word for UFO is "OVNI" (Objecto Volador No Identificado).

Continuity[]

  • Isabella mentions Buford being in a spaceship before ("Moon Farm").

Allusions[]

  • Domino's Pizza - The pizzeria's promise of delivery in 37 minutes or less parodies this chain's legendary promise of "delivery in less than 30 minutes or your pizza is free". Also, the leaflet Doofenshmirtz is looking at says "We deliver", a phrase often used by Domino's.
  • Rocko's Modern Life - The pizza guy's name, Rocco, as well as the name of his eponymous pizzeria, are likely a reference to this series, which both Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh worked on.
  • "This Old Man" - The melody of Major Monogram's song comes from this nursery rhyme.
  • Voyager program - The aliens return one of the Voyager space probes from the 1970s. These unmanned probes performed flybys of planets in the outer solar system.
