I am simply wondering if "Take Two with Phineas and Ferb" is technically considered canon, as it seems to me that it would be rather out of character for them to engage in an activity as repetitive as hosting a talk show. -38.126.23.254 04:57, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

With Dr. Doofenshmirtz now making comments on real-life people and events in Doof's Daily Dirt, I would say that the answer is yes, it's canon. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 15:19, February 16, 2013 (UTC)
Talking about real-life isn't canon. It's just breaking the fourth wall. To determine if something outside of the actual show is actually canon, we'll have to ask Dan or Swampy. That's really all that we can do. StefCW (talk) 19:17, October 5, 2013 (UTC)
In my opinion, supplementery material, such as "Take Two with Phineas and Ferb," "Doof's Daily Dirt," and any books, should be considered canon if Dan Povenmire or Jeff "Swampy" Marsh were directly related in production (such as Doof's voice in "Doof's Daily Dirt") or have officially confirmed it to be canonical, preferably on their twitter accounts. Peter.mattsen (talk) 02:33, October 29, 2013 (UTC)
I think that only the show and what is specifically stated to be canon by the creators should be considered canon. Anything else and you might contradict the show. Ex. "Learn to Draw Phineas and Ferb" states that Isabella doesn't have eyebrows and is sensitive about that. However, in the show she is often depicted with eyebrows and has never once shown signs of being sensitive about that. Therefore, this particular supplementary work contradicts the show, so it cannot be concidered canon.
Example taken from Doof Daily. Charlene applied for a restraning order against Doofenshmirtz and cancelled their divorce settlement after his Iphone's autocorrect changed his texts. This has not been seen in the show; Doof's still getting his alimony and has partial custody of Vanessa and still sees Charlene occassionally. Thus, Doof's Daily Dirt contradicts the show and cannot be concidered canon unless Dan Povenmire or Jeff Swampy Marsh say otherwise.
Thus, I would advise only considering the show's material or what the creators specifically say is canon. Thank you StefCW (talk) 03:36, October 29, 2013 (UTC)
