"You are much more attentive than my friends on Earth, and better at building statues of me."
Candace Flynn referring to the Martians[src]

The Martians are sentient beings that live on Mars. They crown Candace the queen after she proves to be similar in spirit to them, in what leads to personal growth for her.

Biography[]

Candace thinks that her friends don't want to hang out with her anymore after failing to call them and misunderstanding a text message from Stacy. She finds Phineas and Ferb, who tell her about the portal they built to a faraway place, piquing her interest. After she enters it, Phineas reveals that she is in Mars, to her surprise. There, she spots a rover and tries to be noticed by the person on it, to no avail. Frustrated, she breaks the vehicle, grabbing the attention of the aliens. The martians gather around Candace, lifting her to another place.

Candace is put in a throne and given a crown, making her the ruler of the Martians. She attempts to commemorate the occasion with a party, but the aliens do not understand her order for music. To demonstrate, she uses an alien's antenna to play a beat, captivating the others, who use their body parts to create music. With the accompaniment of her new servants, Candace sings about her state of affairs. Afterwards, she continues her rulership, destroying another rover at the aliens' request. Phineas and Ferb find her to bring her home, but she objects to it as her servants beat up the boys' rover-inspired car.

Now popular, Candace decides to go for a walk, only to be requested to kick another rover. Phineas and Ferb appear in her throne room, revealing that Ferb communicated with the Martians and taught them about science fairs. Candace asks her brother to inform the aliens that she wants some time alone, but they do not agree. She gets in the boys' car to make an escape, and is chased by a giant fusioned Martian in the process. As they are about to be caught, Baljeet opens the portal to the other side, saving them ("Unfair Science Fair Redux (Another Story)").

At the science fair, Baljeet shows Mars to Mr. McGillicuddy, who observes the Martians partaking in a fair of their own. Following the explosion of Doofenshmirtz's volcano, he is pulled into the portal to Mars, where he witnesses a baking soda volcano being crowned king instead of him ("Unfair Science Fair").

Physical appearance[]

The martians are green bean-shaped aliens with three eyes, one antenna, and two tube-shaped ears. Some of them have distinct features, such as buck teeth and freckles. The bottom part of their body consists of a dark green belt-like structure with a white frame, lime green waist and legs, simulating pants, and an olive green flat part under the feet, emulating shoes.

Each of the aliens' body parts serves as a musical instruments, including a teeth keyboard, trumpet ear, and drum feet.

Personality[]

They are clingy and hard-headed. Reflecting Candace's desires at that time, the aliens act as being highly dependant on her, wanting to stay close to her at all times and repudiating others who try to go near her.

Relationships[]

Each other[]

The martians seem to live in groups, having no trouble co-existing and sharing the same thoughts.

Candace[]

They find her suitable to be their leader, since her mindset is the same as theirs, and immediately crown her. A symbol of their beliefs, they idolize her, erecting statues and serving her as she pleases.

Phineas and Ferb[]

They think of the boys as intruders who need to be taken care of, trying to beat their car up and to catch them as they escape with their queen.

Background Information[]

  • The martians appear to be primitive beings. They practice monarchy by electing living and non-living beings to rule over them; have little knowledge on music despite their bodies being made of instruments; and have a limited concept of social events. Based on their behavior, it is likely that they are still establishing their society, in what is analogous to the human Stone Age.
  • The martian language appears to be partly a backwards English, according to Ferb's speech.
  • The martians seem to dislike rovers and other objects of similar appearance, likely due to being constantly observed by those.
  • The martians do and build various things to honor Candace, including an alien food feast, five statues, and a crater in the shape of her head.
  • The martians appear in one of the scenes of the montage recounting the summer ("Last Day of Summer").
