"Ferb and I have built the ultimate extreme skate track obstacle course!" — Phineas[src] |
Phineas and Ferb's Super Skate Course of Doom, also known as the Phineas-and-Ferb-Edge-of-Insanity-Kiss-Your-Butt-Goodbye-Gravity's-a-Stone-Cold-Sucker-Nightmare-Rail-Skate-Track-Obstacle-Course-of-Doom, is a skate course built by Phineas and Ferb so they could have the coolest skateboarding experience ever.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb oversee the finished product, planning to test it at that moment. As they are about to begin, Ferb accidentally drops Phineas' skateboard, which goes through the track hitting every obstacle along the way, causing it to explode once it reaches the bottom. Phineas realizes that they could get hurt, so the boys decide to take the stairs down to reevaluate the structure.
Back on the floor, Phineas and Ferb greet Isabella, who asks if she can do a report on their newest invention. They tell her about the course, intriguing her about its usability. Considering the failed attempt, Phineas explains that they need to tweak it first. Following her departure, the boys have the idea to modify themselves instead of the track, creating the Beak suit in the process.
With the suit finished, Phineas and Ferb test it using the course, successfully proving its capabilities. After doing some initial deeds as a superhero, the two land in the backyard by grabbing the track, smashing it into pieces. Later in the day, the boys clean up the skate course by stuffing the broken remains in the trash can beside the garage with the aid of the suit ("The Beak").
Design[]
The Super Skate Course of Doom is a sport track consisting of a wood circuit and many obstacles. Spanning the entire backyard, it is paved with a fire pattern and filled by yellow ramps, orange rotatory segments, a blue and red trampoline, a beige center spot with three red flags atop, a red drifting section, blue and green parts, grey pipes, and a starting point cabin. Hurdles include whacking hammers, a leopard, traffic cones, a brick wall, axes, a flamethrower cannon, orange and black barriers, and a shark.
Mechanics[]
The Super Skate Course of Doom is constructed to keep the user at high speeds during a run; descents, loops, rotatory segments, and a trampoline are present to maintain momentum. Coupled with several dangerous obstacles, the course can raise one's adrenaline as much as is healthy, contributing to its overall thrill factor.
Background Information[]
- Despite the course's life-threatening theme, Phineas only realizes the danger once his skateboard passes through it, chalking it up to the "of doom" in the name.
- The flame pattern in the track's design is a reference to fire's association with radical motifs, particularly in toys like Hot Wheels.
- The course's center of mass appears to be sustained by the house. Because of the way the base is positioned on the roof, this property allows the parts to slide down instead of directly colliding after breaking.
- Due to the invention's long name, it is referred to under a shorter title every time it is alluded to; Candace calls it the "nightmare-rail-skate-ramp of doom" when telling her mom, and Phineas identifies it as the "ultimate extreme skate track obstacle course" while talking to Isabella.
- At the end of the day, Phineas reveals to Khaka Peü Peü that he and Ferb are thinking of rebuilding the track. The villain is invited to help, but dismisses the idea because of the hot weather.
- The Super Skate Course of Doom is seen in the montage of clips used by Irving in his video dedicated to Phineas ("Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!").
