Big Game Sunday in Danville

Everyone in the Backyard on a blackout

There was no truth to the rumors that the big football game between the Charm City Poebirds and the Bay Area Gold Rushers was delayed due to the sudden sighting of an machine called a Sad Eyes-Inator outside the Tri-State Area Megadome causing a blackout. And atop that, it's pretty sure that Ilovebartmorethanyou16 and Isabella and Lego Liker will get this joke as well.

Is this thing on?

Well, this was a surprise. The newsletter landed naturally on a weekend, where you'd think there would extra time to work on it, and somehow I completely missed the fact that I was supposed to work on it. As a result, this issue is going to be quite a bit smaller than normal.

Since Ferb-ruary is a shorter month, the next newsletter is just 10 days away. I am going to try to use that time to catch up on some things, like posting the answers from the bonus issue and getting all of the pictures properly credited, get the monthly voting checked out early, and close the inactive old blogs and forums. And try to work on a few articles so that we can a normal or even larger newsletter next time.

This is a recording

A few quick reminders, which have been in the past newsletters:

Nominations for administratorship are open. If you know of someone that has really helped the wiki and seems to keep a cool head when dealing with problems, they might make a good admin.

The new process for Featured Articles is just about done, so as we get past the four that have already been nominated, we can switch to the new method. Please cast a vote so that we can have a new Featured Article on the main page next month.

KCALogo2013
  • The nominees are out for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, and once again, our favorite series has been named a finalist in the Best Animated Series category. The competition will come from Nick's SpongeBob SquarePants, Fairly OddParents and Cartoon Network's Tom and Jerry. (You want to know how old Tom and Jerry are? They're 206.) Voting is underway at Nick.com with the winner to be announced on March 23rd live (in the Eastern Time Zone) as part of the 26th annual event.
P&Ftopiaries
  • The Phineas and Ferb topiaries are coming back to Epcot at Walt Disney World for their 20th Anniversary Epcot Flower and Garden Festival from March 6th through May 19th. While there, why don't you head over to the World Showcase and play the Agent P World Showcase Game as well.

Platypus Day is nearly here

by RRabbit42

By now you've noticed the new background for the wiki, celebrating Platypus Day that's coming up on March 2nd. The original design was provided by Numbah26 and updated by myself.

This is the first time I have tried using the center area as part of the design, but after KinHikari suggested it, I decided to give it a try. I know there's some unusual texturing in the words and in parts of Agent P, but using higher compression was the only way I could work around a limitation in the wiki. Leave a comment to let me know if you like having the center artwork or if we should just stick to using the sides.

But enough of that. The good stuff relating to Platypus Day includes the websites on Disney Channel and Disney XD. In addition, this Sunday, February 24th, is the first of the two days where Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh will be on Radio Disney, with the next one being on Friday, March 1st. You will have to check the Radio Disney website during the week to see when they're going to start advertising those events and at what time they will be.

And finally, both Disney Channel and Disney XD will be showing new episodes that weekend, just a few days after Animal Agents goes on sale.

There's a lot going on in the next two weeks to help celebrate our favorite semi-aquatic, egg-laying mammal of action.

Coming in two weeks:
  • We're celebrating Platypus Day in our next issue.
  • Hands-on with the New Merchandise
  • Recent episodes review
  • Other articles to be determined (submissions wanted - send to RRabbit42 or use the Newsletter submissions page)
