"You know, I bet you pyramids would make any sport better." — Phineas[src] |
The Pyramid Sports are a series of sports invented by Phineas and Ferb as a funner alternative mode to the usual gameplay.
History[]
Phineas and Ferb are looking at a picture of Clyde and Betty Jo in their younger days, from a water skiing competition with pyramid formations. Reasoning that such a disposition can increase the fun of any sport, the boys declare their intention to experiment some triangle eccentricity, picking up a drop down microphone to do so. The loud pitch muffles an approaching Candace's hearing, hindering her ability to figure out their plans. Unpreoccupied, the brothers head out to setup their game.
At the park, Phineas and Ferb gather the gang to demonstrate their idea of playing sports while in a pyramid arrangement. Soon afterwards, all the neighborhood kids embark on a plethora of three-sided activities. A significant number of games are tried out in this style, essentially validating the boys' earlier hypothesis by induction. Knowing as much, the kids continue the avant-garde entertainment outside of the field, bike riding in the street right under Candace and Linda's noses ("Thanks But No Thanks").
Design[]
The Pyramid Sports are games fashioned in pyramid configurations, for which three to five players form the base, sustaining another three to ten people above, which land over them through a seesaw, as to maintain the required equilibrium. In cases like bike riding, an inverse triangle can be laid out, with one person supporting the other five to fourteen. Depending on the sport, the amount of formations can range from one to twelve.

Background Information[]
- According to Phineas, the pyramid formation is equivalent to a fun multiplier of ten.
- From the starting montage and options roulette, it can be seen that the other sports available to play in the triangle setup are baseball, hockey, roller skating, darts, tennis, football, and basketball.
- The long jump is watched by a large audience in a side bleacher.
- Complying with the theme, the cheerleading duty is undertaken by the Fireside Girls in a triangle organization.
- Performing the inverse bike is, from bottom to top and left to right, Buford, Gretchen, Adyson, Ginger, Holly, Katie, Phineas, Isabella, Ferb, and Baljeet.
- The seesaw elevation is accomplished with the use of the Giant Floating Baby Head, indicating that it is heavier than any kid.
- There is one leftover kid playing croquet besides a three base group.
- Although soccer is supposed to be six against six, the red-black side has five arrangements.
- Upon hitting a tree after skateboarding, Baljeet states that he probably hurt his sigmoid colon, a part of the large intestine close to the butt.
- In the end, Candace and Linda contemplate a nearby pyramid scheme, ironically missing a literal one behind them.
- The Pyramid Sports are mentioned by Candace on her rant about her brothers' antics, an image of it appearing as she speaks of it (Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe).
