"Behold, the Rainbow-inator! Made with real crystals and supercharged with Fruity Rainbow Flakes. Soon, there will be a giant rainbow that will sprawl across the entire Tri-State Area!" — Phineas[src] |
The Rainbow-inator is a rainbow generator invented by Phineas and Ferb to provide Isabella with her supposed first observation of one.
History[]
Isabella comes by to the Flynn-Fletcher household while Phineas and Ferb are eating cereal for breakfast. Eyeing the meal box, she points out how she has never seen one of the detailed colorful objects, much to her unquelled curiosity. Determined to help a friend, the boys settle on an extravagant project for the day. Outside, the two set up the necessary parts, ahead of schedule for their companion's return. Once she appears, they present their newest invention to her, ecstatically hyping up the big moment of beauty.
Some time later, Phineas and Ferb bring the machine inside the lawn perimeter, ready for a spectacular usage. Isabella proceeds to pour the flamboyant grains into the vacuum compartment after it is turned on, sufficiently charging the select mechanism in order to shoot out a magnific rainbow spectrum across the multi-state vicinity. While his owners are satisfied with the sight, a coned spy Perry gets dizzy from lair-accessing tries, colliding with the device in what initiates the spontaneous self-destruct module ("Hail Doofania!").
Design[]
The Rainbow-inator is a conversion machine with a light gray double trapeze base, a light gray hemisphere stand, a light gray "u"-shaped gripper, a light gray cone body, a white rainbow meter panel, a light gray "l"-shaped bottom tube, a gray back lever slot, a red lever, a rectangular purple trinket, a white tip rounded by three light gray donut rings, and a light gray spherical storer linked to three cables colored red, green, and blue.
Mechanics[]
The Rainbow-inator is an optical producer geared towards the spawning of rainbows. Imbued with pigment crystals, it can be triggered with the lowering of the installed lever, then permitting the pouring of vibrant cereal snacks inside the outer duct to supercharge the inner system. A continuous spectrum of light is evoked a few seconds thereafter, spanning a state-wide radius.
Background Information[]
- Isabella does not specify what she has not seen from the Fruity Rainbow Flakes box. As a result, Phineas and Ferb misunderstand her wish by paying attention to the glaring rainbows, instead of the originally intended minor unicorn.
- For their creation's contruction, the brothers set everything up in secrecy, revealing the final product behind the backyard's fence.
- The Rainbow-inator is styled like the majority of Doofenshmirtz's schemes and inventions, featuring the typical "-inator" suffix and a self-destruct button.
- While the boys devise an inator, the evil scientist ironically builds his own "country", something that they would be expected to do.
- Additionally to the unconventional scheme, Phineas and Ferb mimick the doctor's melodramatic attitude in exaggerating the whole procedure, complete with a mention of the Tri-State Area.
- The presence of wiring in red, green, and blue is a reference to the RGB color model used to display colors in digital screens.
- The formed rainbow shifts the focus of a fisherman group, causing one of them to reel in a waterborne nation construction.
- Following the machine's implosion, Ferb questions the implementation of a self-destruct button in its design.
- Comprehending their friend's actual desire, the boys immediately decide on an activity for the next day.
