Phineas and Ferb Wiki

Can you imagine the look on both our dads' faces if they saw us here together?

— Monty Monogram

Inspired by Lawrence's simple magic trick, Phineas and Ferb host a spectacular magic show called Mind Flip, which presents tricks so wild, it would blow anyone's mind. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Major Monogram's son Monty go on a coffee date together despite their warring fathers and Perry tries to hide them, while Dr. Doofenshmirtz tries to become hip in an attempt to get youthful followers.

Episode Summary[]

Phineas, Ferb, and Buford are in the backyard. Lawrence comes and does a magic trick, taking a coin from behind Phineas' ear. Buford takes a fake ear from behind his own ear, and Baljeet pops up behind Buford, giving Phineas the idea of putting on a magic show. Buford's head flips open to reveal Ferb's head inside, while the real Buford appears behind Phineas.

At the coffee shop, Vanessa is waiting in the line to buy drinks, only to meet Monty Monogram by accident, much to her surprise. The seller asks what they want to buy, and they have the same answer. They then decide to have a cappuccino together. Meanwhile, Major Monogram tells Perry that Doofenshmirtz is on his way to Steam Noir, the hippest coffee shop in Danville. He tells Perry to head there and stop Doofenshmirtz.

In the backyard, Candace sees her brothers building a stage, and Phineas offers her a part. Declining, she prepares to call Linda. Buford grabs her cell phone and smashes it with a hammer as a magic trick. After Candace demands her phone back, Buford denies. Angered, Candace decides to use the landlines, unaware that Buford already destroyed them.

At the coffee shop, Monty and Vanessa are talking. Perry enters the coffee shop and immediately sees the two. He then walks into a sofa and pulls a sleeping man's hat, fake goatee, and laptop as a disguise. Vanessa leaves the table to get more milk for her coffee, which is on the table next to Perry, who unsuccessfully tries to cover himself. Vanessa tells Perry that she would appreciate it if he didn't tell her father that his daughter is dating his enemy's son, and Perry agrees.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz arrives at the coffee shop and talks to a waiter about his evil scheme, explaining that since he has gone nowhere with the older population, he figured he should target the younger generation. He then presents the Cool-inator and explains how he will suck all the cool out of the hippest coffee house in town and then blast himself with it, transforming him into an awesome dude so that the youths will follow him and help him take over the Tri-State Area. He then explains that the Cool-inator only runs on espresso, and asks for it. Doofenshmirtz incorrectly asks for 999 cups of espresso, making him take multiple trips from his car to pour the espresso and back.

In the backyard, Phineas and Ferb present the magic show Mind Flip on the completed stage. Ferb produces a two-headed dragon with his and Phineas' faces. The dragon then turns into water, from which a ship emerges.

At Steam Noir, while Monty and Vanessa continue their conversation, Doofenshmirtz continues filling the Cool-inator and returning to the shop while Perry blocks Vanessa and Monty from the doctor's view. In the backyard, Phineas and Ferb continue their magic show, with Phineas appearing in a transparent orb in the air.

At the coffee shop, Doofenshmirtz finishes pouring espresso into the Cool-inator and enters the shop with it. Vanessa and Monty have begun arguing, and Perry pushes both of them outside the shop. Inside, Doofenshmirtz drains the cool out of many customers, turning them into nerds.

Doofenshmirtz then prepares to reverse the Cool-inator to blast himself with it, but Perry throws it on top of him, and it fires a single ray into the sky and self-destructs. As Candace tries to get her parents to come to the backyard, the ray hits them, transforming them into cool versions of themselves, causing them to ignore Candace. Monty and Vanessa make peace and agree to meet eachother again. For the grand finale, Phineas and Ferb make everything disappear. Candace then enters the backyard, and Phineas gives her her fixed phone.

Candace: (After her cell phone is fully restored after it was smashed earlier)Okay, this may be an easy enough trick, but how did you make the whole show disappear?

Ferb: A good magician never reveals his secret.
Candace: That's a little cliché Ferb, don't you think? (Ferb's head pops open, and Baljeet appears)
Baljeet: Miiiiind fliiiiip!

Memorable Quotes[]

Lawrence: Hello lads!
Phineas: Hi Dad!
Lawrence: What are you boys doing?
Phineas: I was just telling Buford about phone booths.
Buford: And I'm not buying it!
Lawrence: Oh no Buford, they were real. They were tiny rooms where you could talk on the phone in private.
Phineas: Yeah! And you'd have to put coins in them to make calls.
Buford: You guys are blowing my mind!
Lawrence: Speaking of coins... What's this here? Behind your ear? (Reaches behind Phineas's ear.) It's a quarter!
Buford: How did you do that?
Lawrence: A magician never reveals his secrets. (Walks away)
Buford: Your dad's really great at tricks!
Phineas: Not really, I just keep a bunch of quarters behind my ear 'cause he enjoys it so much. (Pulls a handful of quarters from behind his ear.)
Monty: Well what I meant is that my dad spends all his time dealing with your father's schemes.
Vanessa: I'll have you know, my father is a misunderstood genius.
Monty: Genius? I have three words for you: Self. Destruct. Buttons.
Vanessa: And yet, in spite of all that, there's my dad free to do it all over again the next day. Whoa, really effective bunch of spies you've got there major. (Perry pushes Monty and Vanessa into the back alley behind Steam Noir)
Monty: At least my dad's spy network isn't funded by monthly alimony checks.
Vanessa: You do know that what he calls a "spy network" is actually just a petting zoo. With hats.
Candace: Phineas and Ferb built a really dangerous magic show in the backyard! You've gotta bust them!

(Linda and Lawrence get hit by the Cool-inator ray)
Linda: Really Candace? Busting? That's so beginning of summer.
Lawrence: There's a Luciano Rigatoni festival at the art house.
Linda: Let's go.

Candace: But Rigatoni's work is passionless! With minimal importance! Every piece betrays its own lack of interest in the subject matter!
Doofenshmirtz: No, no, you guys are nerds! I'm cool! Well, at least I would've been when I hit myself with the inator, which is now destroyed. CURSE YOU, PERRY THE PLATYPUS!
