Rollercoaster

Ginger and Katie in the crowd

Katie and Ginger make a cameo.

  • The cars that Phineas and Ferb use for their coaster are the same as those used at the State Fair, and several of the kids that rode with them at the State Fair rode their new coaster.
  • This is the first episode with a song in the end credits that wasn't featured in the episode.
  • Phineas's personality seems to be rather relaxed and indifferent in this episode alone, as seen in his conversations with Candace and Isabella.
  • Katie and Ginger make an early cameo in this episode; they appear in a crowd shot during the unveiling of the coaster, but they did not wear their berets and sashes.
  • Stacy was first mentioned in this episode, but she is not seen.
  • In the Ah-ah-ah-ah! scene, if looked at close enough, a sign that reads: "Exclamation Finance" can be seen.
  • The door and window on the side of the helicopter together bear a strong resemblance to the Ukrainian flag.
  • Phineas's line: "...and boredom is something of up with which I will not put!" is a take off on a quotation (often misattributed) from Winston Churchill as a way of preventing a sentence from ending in a preposition.
  • This is the first episode where Dr. Doofenshmirtz's invention doesn't end with the "-inator" suffix.
  • Mt. Rushmore, the Eiffel Tower, and the Statue of Liberty can be seen in this episode, though the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty shouldn't have been able to bend due to them being solid metal.
  • "I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun!" can be heard as "elevator music" when Candace and her mom are shopping at the Super Food Stuff Mart.
  • This episode is referenced many times later.
  • When Candace says "Will you hold it down? I am trying to use the phone!", it sounds similar to the quotations said by Constance, "Will you hold it down? I am trying to use the quill!" in "The Monster of Phineas-n-Ferbenstein", and said by Carl, "Will you stop that? I am trying to have a conversation!" in "I Was a Middle Aged Robot".
  • As Phineas and Ferb ride on the rollercoaster, they pass by or through many things they will later include as some of their daily projects, including a tub of mud ("Spa Day"), a car wash ("At the Car Wash"), a construction site ("The Doof Side of the Moon"), an airplane ("De Plane! De Plane!"), Mount Rushmore ("Candace Loses Her Head"), the Eiffel Tower ("Not Phineas and Ferb", "Phineas and Ferb Summer Belongs to You!"), and outer space ("Out to Launch", "The Chronicles of Meap", "Meapless in Seattle").
  • When Candace looks into the backyard to see that the boys are not there, a horror sting can be heard. The horror sting will later be heard in "Raging Bully", "Run Away Runway", "Comet Kermillian", "The Flying Fishmonger", "Backyard Aquarium" and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!", and different variations can be heard in "I Scream, You Scream", "Leave the Busting to Us!", "The Remains of the Platypus" and "The Doonkelberry Imperative".
  • In the musical version of this episode, when Candace is screaming at the poster in the store, it is shown that she did want to yell at some cheese.

Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror

  • This is the first time Ferb sings.
  • During the construction of the beach, for a moment it appears that Ferb is doing the "sprinkler" dance, but is in fact standing on top of a large water sprinkler.
  • The lawn gnomes currently sold in the Tri-State Area are basically unchanged from when Heinz Doofenshmirtz was growing up in Gimmelshtump. Since Major Monogram states that the gardens are no longer protected because the lawn gnomes are being stolen, this would indicate that this particular lawn gnome design has proven itself quite effective over many years in combating magic. It's possible that they are being imported to Danville from the Gimmelshtump area.
  • Heinz Doofenshmirtz was still forced to stand in as a lawn gnome even after the family's situation changed. The details are revealed in "Got Game?" and later seen in "The Chronicles of Meap".
  • Jeremy doesn't speak in this episode.
  • Phineas's sandals seem to resemble the ones worn by Django Brown but unlike his, they're blue.
  • Stacy and Jenny are the ones that crown Candace after she wins the limbo contest.
  • This would be the first time Perry the Platypus is seen exiting Doofenshmirtz' hideout.
  • This is the first episode that Doofenshmirtz does not say "Curse you Perry The Platypus!"
  • This is one of two episodes that Isabella wears a bow that is not close to the color of clothes she is wearing when she is a red swimsuit, but with a pink bow. The other is in Candace Loses Her Head, where she also wears a pink bow with her Fireside Girl uniform.
  • This is the first time Phineas and Ferb deliberately clean-up one of their big ideas. However, only the beach sand was cleaned up on purpose; the water was cleaned up when Perry set the settings of the Destructinator to Suck.
  • Django Brown makes his first appearance.
  • This is the first time Candace didn't try to bust Phineas and Ferb.
  • It was unknown how the beach returned to the neighborhood after the episode.
  • Candace's bikini can be seen again for a short moment in the episode "Flop Starz". She wears it again throughout "The Mom Attractor".
  • Stacy's bikini can be seen again briefly for a short moment in the episode "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted".
  • The song from the end credits ("Perry the Platypus") was later extended in "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!".
  • Doofenshmirtz says maybe he needs to "turn the cable on first" when trying to get the giant screen to work, just as Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro told Linda to "turn on the cable box first" in "The Fast and the Phineas".
  • Second, and last, preview episode. ("Rollercoaster")

Flop Starz

  • This is one of few times that Phineas has said 'No' in response to someone asking him if he was too young to be doing whatever he was doing - in this case, it was asking if he was too young to be a pop star.
  • By broadcast order, this is the first time the Evil Jingle appears.
  • This is the first episode that Candace does not stutter due to the Big Idea's disappearance.
  • Ferb has no lines in this episode, but sings "baby, baby, baby, baby" but it he is voiced by a different person. This is the first episode to show that kind of matter.
  • This is the first episode where Phineas sings, as well as Candace.
  • The show's host was later identified as Phil in Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension.
  • Both of the episode's songs have an extended version in future episodes ("Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown", "Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Max Modem!").
  • First episode in which a character other than Isabella, says "Whatcha Doin'?".
  • First time Candace sees the Big Idea (or part of it) disappear.
  • Isabella is first seen with an orange-ish bow and her Fireside Girl uniform on, but no beret. This is exactly like "Candace Loses Her Head", when she wore her regular pink bow with her Fireside Girl uniform without the beret when we first see her. In both situations, she is seen in the rest of the episode with her signature pink dress and pink shoes on her. She later has it this way in "We Call it Maze".

The Fast and the Phineas

Dave and Rick

Dan (right) and Swampy (left) as announcers.

  • The two announcers are drawn after the show's creators, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh and Dan Povenmire. According to the credits, the announcers are named Dave and Rick, but since their names are not spoken during the episode, it is not possible to determine which is which.
  • The name of the race (Swamp Oil 500) is a reference to Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, one of the show's creators.
  • Gretchen is the first Fireside Girl after Isabella to have a speaking role in the series. She is also the first to be named on camera.
  • This episode became The Fast and the Ferbulous: Danville Drift after Dr. Doofenshmirtz used his Change-inator-inator on it as part of the Spot the Diff marathon.
  • This might be the first time Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated was ever advertised.
  • This is the first time Phineas's name is an episode title. Similarly, this is the first time any character's name is in an episode title. It is also the first time the plot is centered on Phineas.
  • First time in episode order we hear the Evil Jingle.
  • This episode marks the most times Candace attempts to get Linda to see what the boys are doing by five. It's also the first episode where Candace does not tell Linda what the boys were doing, possibly because she wants to surprise her.
  • The way Isabella says "That helmet is so manly" sounded almost identical to how Isabella commented the rollercoaster in the Original Pitch.
  • The song "If Summer Only Lasted One Day" can be heard when Linda is attempting to turn on the Garcia-Shapiro's TV. ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror")
  • After Doofenshmirtz's blimp knocks the T.V. out and prevents Linda from seeing Phineas in the race, Candace says "meep", like Meap and Mitch say without the translator. ("The Chronicles of Meap")
  • First episode where Phineas is oblivious to someone other than Isabella, in this case Linda.
  • First time all the Fireside Girls were seen together.
  • This is the first time no one said "Oh, there you are, Perry".
  • This is the second time Candace does not stutter after a flawed bust ("Flop Starz").
  • First episode where one of Candace's flawed bust reactions is not shown, the second time is in "Happy New Year!".
  • Candace trying to show Linda that her car is not there is a reverse of the usual pattern, usually she tries to show that the Big Idea is there but by the time Linda arrives, it's not. In this episode, she tries to prove that nothing's there but right when Linda comes home, it's back. This also happened in "Rollercoaster" and will later happen again in "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo", "Not Phineas and Ferb" and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!".

Lights, Candace, Action!

  • This is the second time Candace didn't try to bust Phineas and Ferb. ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror")

  • This is the first time Candace's ears are shown.
  • This is the first episode where you don't see Perry entering his lair.
  • This is the second episode without a song in it. The first was "Rollercoaster", if not counting Perry the Platypus in the end credits.

  • This was the first episode to rerun on Disney Channel after the May 2014 logo change.
  • Aside from the bat and whale whistles, Perry also has whistles for summoning cats, dogs, cows, Komodo dragons, and sardines.

Candace Loses Her Head

  • Candace's birthday is July 11, which occurs on a Friday in this episode.
  • Candace is allergic to dairy products, as revealed in the song Candace.
  • First appearance of Lawrence Fletcher.

  • In production order, this is the first episode where Perry does not rejoin Phineas and Ferb at the end and the first time no one says "Oh, there you are, Perry".

I, Brobot

Run Away Runway

  • This is one of the two episodes that reveals that Major Monogram does not wear pants while at headquarters.
  • First episode Phineas did not say "Hey, Where's Perry?"
  • First of many episodes in which Isabella is seen leading the Fireside Girls, but does not wear her uniform once.
  • According to the tape measure, Candace's neck is five and a half inches long.

  • This is also the first time the Vague magazine is seen. Its second appearance is in "Candace's Big Day".
  • First episode in which Doofenshmirtz is mistaken for a pharmacist, thus beginning a recurring joke throughout the series.

The Magnificent Few

  • The population of Danville is 241,000. It's shown in a big sign while entering the city.
  • This marks the first time we see Perry use his chatter in Dr. Doofenshmirtz's presence. He knows about the chatter because he can describe it.
  • When Mom thinks the boys riding the horses is cute, Phineas breaks the fourth wall by looking at the audience and says "She means well". It is also the first time Phineas acts embarrassed when he says that.
  • This is the first time Isabella's obsession of horses is shown.
  • First episode in which none of the events take place at the Flynn-Fletcher house.
  • The dialogue that Candace says on her cell phone and that Major Monogram repeats is taken verbatim from "Rollercoaster".
  • This marks the first appearance of Doof's habitual self-destruct button.
  • The person selling the cow stuff is the guy who was at the A-G-L-E-T from Tip of the Day concert, in the front row. He, along with some other people from the concert, would also appear in Alien Heart from Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Max Modem!

S'Winter

  • First episode to have a song with the same name as the title.
  • Candace falls off a cliff after trying to distract Jeremy from a 'so-thought' girl, and she says "Why does-this-keep-happening to me" this obviously indicates that she is also referring to the previous paired episode The Magnificent Few, as she also falls off a cliff in the episode.
  • Buford appears in this episode but does not speak.
  • Vanessa from "The Magnificent Few" returns and makes a speaking cameo.
  • It's revealed Candace has Acrophobia (fear of heights).
  • It is unknown how Perry escaped from the "sticky string".
  • This episode was named as an "Honorable Mention" on WatchMojo.com's Top 10 ‘'Phineas and Ferb Episodes.[1]

Jerk De Soleil

  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb deliberately clean-up. However, the net flew away, whilst the rest was cleaned up by Ferb (he pulled a lever, hiding the audience seats underground).
  • This episode marks the first time that Perry gets involved in both his mission and Phineas and Ferb's Big Idea at the same time.

  • It appears that the amount of water in the beaver pond would not be sufficient to raise the level of an ocean by 2%.

  • Upcoming movies at the Pharaoh Theater: "Big Ape".
  • Movies previously shown at the Pharaoh Theater: "Moxi", "Sharks", "Dinor", "Bus! The Movie", "Scratchy", Safari Man 2" (in 2-D), "Space Armada", "Space Adventure 6", "Monkey Men 2", "S/A3".
  • At one point, it appears that the "Safari Man 2" display changes to the "Monkey Men 2" display because both appear immediately to the left of the "Space Armada" poster and the flying saucer display. However, it may be possible that the theater had more than one copy of the poster and flying saucer displays, and just happened to put each of them close to the separate "Safari Man 2" and "Monkey Men 2" displays when they got moved into storage. Based on what is shown in the episode, the "Safari Man 2" display is somewhere to the right of the "Monkey Men 2" display.
  • The Unnamed Pinhead Pierre actress didn't appear until "Greece Lightning" she's has a little bit brown skin and brown hair and no hairband and she has earings.
  • This marks one of the earliest accomplishments of doing something in the title sequence, in this case, "fighting a mummy".
  • This is the first time that Doofenshmirtz calls his nemesis "Perry" instead of "Perry the Platypus".
  • This is the first time Phineas gets scared.
  • In the basement of the Pharaoh Theater among the old movie signs is a "Keep Left" sign. That was the name of the band Dan Povenmire used to be in.

  • Candace's complete letter to the Bettys reads as follows:

Journey to the Center of Candace

  • Candace is allergic to dairy products ("Candace Loses Her Head", "Oh, There You Are, Perry"), but the severity is not specified. If it is a mild allergy, this may explain why grilled cheese sandwiches are her favorite. Grilled cheese sandwiches typically use processed cheese instead of unprocessed cheese, and this difference may allow her to enjoy the sandwiches with little or no reaction.
  • First episode where Perry shows his affection towards the boys. This is also the first episode where Perry doesn't fight Doofenshmirtz to stop him, simply cuffs him to a pipe after being told the plan.

  • This is the first time Ferb uses his regular voice (provided by Thomas Sangster) to sing and not a different one, (usually provided by Danny Jacob) while all of the other songs he sang used Jacob's voice. (Note that Ferb singing in The Ballad of Badbeard is not so much singing as rhythmic talking.)
  • The zebra Candace sees later appears in "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted" and "Nerds of a Feather".
  • This marks the second appearance of the boys' maternal grandparents, Betty Jo and Clyde Flynn. ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!")

The Best Lazy Day Ever

  • First appearances: Coltrane and unnamed Jeremy and the Incidentals' drummer.
  • In this episode, Candace does a nearly impossible plan, which is undoubtedly out of her real character. This makes the line "driving our sister insane" from the title sequence a real part of this episode.
  • OLO-COOL 345

    Looks like it's 2008.

When Candace shows the boys the time-traveling machine, it said 20,000 BC, 2008, and 98,000 AD. This most likely means this episode takes place in 2008.

  • Third time Linda is limited to a cameo ("Lights, Candace, Action!", "Run Away Runway").

Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!

  • Isabella and Buford are absent in this episode. Technically though, the only characters to appear in real life are Perry and Phineas. It is also the first 2-part episode without Isabella.
  • This was the first episode that shows how Phineas, Ferb, and Candace met, but as a dream sequence, cannot be considered official. Also, the episode in general is non-canon.
  • Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram only make cameos in this episode.
  • This is the biggest role for Jeremy until "Nerdy Dancin'"
  • Perry appears three times in this episode.
  • This episode marks the third time Phineas, Ferb and Candace see Perry wearing his hat although it was just a dream. ("Toy to the World" (Phineas and Ferb), "The Ballad of Badbeard" (Candace))
  • This is the only episode (until "Isabella and the Temple of Sap") that does not contain an Agent P sub-plot.
    • However, Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz show up on a giant robot near the end of the episode, implying that an Agent P sub-plot was happening while Candace was trying to save Phineas and Ferb, but the audience didn't see anything besides the fight on the robot and in this when Perry comes from the ground he shakes his hat with his hand as he is saying hello to them and even it also looked like Perry was protecting Phineas and Ferb from the sergent.
  • Had the episode actually taken place in Candace's dream instead of Perry's, this would have put an end to the overall plot of the show, considering that Candace would have finally realized that busting her brothers would have unpleasant results. If that had happened, this episode would have been a reasonable series finale. Espically if it was real.
  • Even though, in real life, it was shown for about 10 seconds, it may take place after "Cheer Up Candace" since Baljeet's Puppet is shown. And that episode was the only one to show it in the real world.
  • So far this episode is the only one (next to "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo" and "She's the Mayor") that Phineas and Ferb get "busted" by their mom.
  • Perry would later make a cameo appearance in "Isabella and the Temple of Sap". Major Monogram and Dr. Doofenshmirtz would later be absent in that same episode.
  • Jeremy would later be focused on in "Nerdy Dancin'".
  • When Stacy is in the speedboat, her bikini from "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror" can briefly be seen.
  • The title of this episode is parodied as "Candace Gets Busted" in the last Season 2 episode.
  • The Talking Zebra from "The Ballad of Badbeard" returns in this episode, which actually is Candace's dream.
  • The beginning of My Undead Mummy can be heard while Phineas and Ferb search for their missing bolt at the start of the episode.
  • This episode was named #6 on WatchMojo.com's Top 10 Phineas and Ferb Episodes.[8]
