Bad Hair Day

  • Mrs. Johnson has her longest screen time so far in the series.
  • Reginald Fletcher's mother appears as a guest in the Endangered Animals Benefit.
  • Phineas and Ferb's big idea for the day, besides helping Candace with her hair, isn't mentioned.
  • This is the first time Dr. Doofenshmirtz never got a chance to fire his inator.
  • Phineas and Ferb have never been closer to Doofenshmirtz before. When he falls off the roof and is caught by Candace, she and her brothers have a direct look at him. Also, it's the fourth time Candace has had physical contact with Doofenshmirtz ("The Ballad of Badbeard", "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?", "Fireside Girl Jamboree").
  • When Doofenshmirtz is singing "Shot in the Butt with a Dart", he mentions that he'd lose consciousness in 17 seconds, which is accurate in real time.
  • Candace's ringtone is an orangutan sound. Previously, it was "Do Nothing Day" in "Backyard Aquarium".
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz gets covered in a material so that he resembles a primate of some sort ("Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!").
  • Doofenshmirtz says "Is this hair?" when he gets covered in hair, which is what Candace says when she falls in the dumpster full of hair in "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!".

  • This is the third time Candace's hair is distorted somehow ("It's About Time!", "Got Game?").
  • Candace wears her pink dress from "Chez Platypus" again.
  • Jeremy wears his tuxedo from "Gaming the System" and "That Sinking Feeling" again.
  • The "Yes-man" from "Toy to the World" can be seen behind Mrs. Johnson when Candace makes her first appearance full with hair.

Phineas and Ferb Interrupted

  • This is the first time Buford and Baljeet sing in Season 3.
  • This is the second time a song is used in both subplots at the same time ("I Scream, You Scream").
  • This is the first episode where Carl appears without Major Monogram.
  • This is the third time Major Monogram is absent in an episode ("Isabella and the Temple of Sap", "Canderemy").
  • It is shown that Perry had already foiled Doofenshmirtz's scheme for the day before the episode starts.
  • This is the third time the Apollo 13 phrase is referenced in the series ("Out to Launch", "Moon Farm").
  • This is the second episode where Candace attempts to bust Phineas and Ferb by urging them to create something despite the boys not wanting to ("The Best Lazy Day Ever").
  • Baljeet mentions "How nice the weather is" ("That Sinking Feeling").
  • When Doofenshmirtz first reveals his Dull-and-Boring-inator in the video, he appears to have just finished a Broadway-style song. Most of Doofenshmirtz's songs tend towards extravagant showstoppers, as first seen in "My Goody Two-Shoes Brother".
  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb have lost their creativity, though the first time was in a dream. This is also the second time Phineas shows he's back to normal by saying "I know what we're gonna do today!" ("Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!").
  • Doofenshmirtz is seen singing "Perry the Platypus" in his bathroom ("Misperceived Monotreme").

A Real Boy

This is real life

Perry and Doofenshmirtz looking at the camera.

  • Rodney makes another appearance.
  • Several things are revealed in this episode:
    • Doofenshmirtz has come to think of Perry the Platypus as family.
    • Doofenshmirtz may have bad breath.
    • Rodney builds "-inizers" instead of "-inators".
  • This is the first episode where Candace busts her brothers more than once.
  • Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz break the fourth wall by looking directly in the camera when Dr. Doofenshmirtz says that he is not in a sitcom.
  • Phineas and Ferb's invention doesn't disappear in this episode.
  • This is the first episode to focus on Norm.
  • This is the third time the Doofenshmirtz and Perry subplot is the main plot ("Hail Doofania!", "Brain Drain").
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated shows up, but does not have the evil jingle play until later in the episode ("Finding Mary McGuffin").
  • One of the female singers in the song is also seen in "Comet Kermillian" and "Candace Gets Busted", but with blonde hair. The other female singer is also seen in "Comet Kermillian", as well as in the "Mix and Mingle Machine" from "Cheer Up Candace".
  • The music Norm listens to on the player sounds as if it could be the heavy-metal instrumental piece heard after the song "I'm Me" from "Vanessassary Roughness"; Vanessa also listens to it in her computer in "Finding Mary McGuffin".
  • At the end of Norm's rap, he is in supposely in a huge blimp hangar. Phineas and Ferb use the same hangar in "Run, Candace, Run" to see if they can outrun light in their high-speed shoes.
  • After Doofenshmirtz tells Norm that he isn't his father, Norm says "Bu-bu-bu-bu-but..." like Candace does during the song "There is No Candy in Me" ("Picture This").
  • This is the third time someone says "I am not your father". The first time is Major Monogram's "daddy" in "Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face!" and the second time is Mitch in "The Chronicles of Meap".
  • This is the ninth time Ferb doesn't talk.
  • This is the second episode to begin at Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated ("Hail Doofania!").
  • This is the third time Phineas and Ferb are "busted" ("Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!", "She's the Mayor").

  • This is the last Phineas and Ferb episode to end with the Disney Channel Original logo.

Mommy Can You Hear Me?

  • In the credits of this episode's sister episode, there's a text that reads "Featuring the Russian Vocal Stylings of Swampysky Marshkarov", which is a reference to Swampy Marsh's name and the fact that he voices a Russian character in this episode.

Road Trip

  • This episode indicates that Candace has "Sleep Busted" before.
  • Candace mentions that the trip took seven days, which is the most days accounted for in any single episode.
  • It is revealed that the ingredient for Dr. Doofenshmirtz's invention's self-destruct feature is "Boom-Juice".
  • The fourth wall is broken eight times by seven people:
    • By Perry, who looks at the screen when Doofenshmirtz turns off the sound to the "early warning explosion button".
    • By Lawrence, who looks directly at the screen when he says "woohoo!".
    • By Ferb, who looks at the screen during "Little Bit of Home on the Road", after he sees the cat in the pot.
    • By Phineas and Ferb, who, in a quick moment, look at the screen after showing out the real and fake butter and but-r.
    • By Ferb again, who looks at the screen a second time during "Little Bit of Home on the Road" after he pulls the salt shaker out of the "fancy spice" can.
    • By the guy who asks for pie, who looks at the screen when he says "I still never got my pie".
    • By Candace and Linda simultaneously, who look at the screen after Lawrence abandons the wheel.
    • By Doofenshmirtz, who is talking to the audience at the end, and looks directly at the screen when he says "flaming cactus".
  • This is the regular-length episode with the most fourth wall breaks in the series, with a total of eight.
  • Perry is interrupted again while on vacation ("Put That Putter Away", "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation!").
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz talks to Lawrence ("Finding Mary McGuffin").
  • Candace pours beverages with her left hand and writes with her right hand. These acts indicate that she is ambidextrous.
  • This is the tenth time Ferb does not talk.
  • This is the second time jukeboxes are involved in some way ("Make Play").
  • The crows return, as does the corn ("Wizard of Odd").
  • The man who breaks his teeth in "Yodel Odel Obey Me" appears again ("Bubble Boys").
  • This is the second time Perry gets annoyed of Candace's babble ("Oh, There You Are, Perry").
  • This is the second time Perry is sitting in a vehicle that Doofenshmirtz is driving ("Unfair Science Fair").
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz's pants are burned ("Moon Farm").
  • This is the second time the Flynn-Fletcher family takes a trip ("Phineas and Ferb Hawaiian Vacation").
  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb open a restaurant ("Chez Platypus") and fifth time they charge money for their big idea ("Rollercoaster", "Chez Platypus", "The Lemonade Stand", "Rollercoaster: The Musical!").
  • Doofenshmirtz is mistaken for a pharmacist again ("Run Away Runway", "The Ballad of Badbeard", Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, "Brain Drain", "Skiddley Whiffers").
  • This is the first Phineas and Ferb episode to end without the Disney Channel Original logo.

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension

  • It is possible that the Amnesia-inator left some parts of the memories in their brain, because Phineas, Baljeet, Buford, Isabella, and possibly Ferb were able to remember the song Summer (Where Do We Begin?) in "Fly On the Wall". And, Phineas was able to remember that they met their doppelgangers in the 2nd dimension and that Isabella kissed him.
    • The scene from "Last Day of Summer" may also be a fourth wall break, as Phineas' next line is "You just wait ten years" referencing his and Isabella's kiss in "Act Your Age" which has chronologically yet to happen.
  • Oddly enough, when Perry reveals his secret identity, Ferb does not show any signs of anger or any type of reaction. When Perry opens the window to escape the hideout, you can briefly hear Ferb saying "Ahhh" as they are falling. This is the only reaction Ferb gives to the situation, other than that, he seems to be quite calm throughout the scenario, even after discovering Perry's secret.
    • When Perry punches Platyborg across the room, revealing his secret identity, Ferb's irises are shrunken and he's pulling back in shock.
  • If you look closely, the Resistance HQ and Pinky's HQ from "Day of the Living Gelatin" , "Isabella and the Temple of Sap" and "Hail Doofania!. "Hail Doofania!", "At the Car Wash", "Robot Rodeo", "Split Personality", "Candace Disconnected", "Magic Carpet Ride" can be seen.
  • This is one of those few times Doofenshmirtz actually succeeded in his scheme (traveling to alternate dimensions with his -inator).
  • This is the sixth time Perry failed to defeat Doofenshmirtz (since he only wanted to travel to alternate dimensions, which was done by the help from Phineas and Ferb). First time was "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!", the second was in "Hail Doofania!", the third was in "That Sinking Feeling", the fourth was in "Hail Doofania!".
  • Despite Monogram mentioning that Carl was a rookie in "I Scream, You Scream", the flashback shows that he has been working in the O.W.C.A. for years.
  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb are shown tied up and chained, the first was during "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!"
  • The fourth wall is broken several times:
    • During Brand New Best Friend, both Doofenshmirtzes break the Fourth wall by mentioning that Meap was played by Lorenzo Lamas.
      • They also look at the screen while saying this.
    • Phineas breaks the Fourth wall by having his eyes staring directly at the screen during Summer (Where Do We Begin?).
    • Phineas also breaks the Fourth wall by "cutting corners" when the movie arrives where it started ("Blah blah blah, two-car garage, etc."). Ferb also exclaims "Whoa, deja-vu-ish." in that same scene.
    • On the DVD version, during the song Mysterious Force, in several shots, Candace is seen staring directly at the audience.
  • During the song Summer (Where Do We Begin?), Phineas begins to sing some of the lyrics from the Phineas and Ferb Theme.
  • Isabella and Phineas kiss for the first time.
  • This is one of the few times in which Phineas is angry.
  • This is the first time that Ferb cries, though it is only briefly shown.
  • Even though this is the longest running Phineas and Ferb event, Ferb has fewer lines than he did in others, such as "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!".
  • This is the first time that the outside of the O.W.C.A Headquarters is shown.
  • Carl is seen without his glasses for the first time.
  • It is revealed that Carl used to wear braces, and Monogram had black hair.
  • It is revealed that Ferb leads a double-life as well. Although it could have been a joke or a reference to Phineas and Ferb's double-life with making inventions without their mom knowing, or a reference to the "The Beak" or "Ready For the Bettys".
  • Phineas bats left handed. In "Toy to the World" he writes left handed, and in "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!" he says that he wants a left-handed flange tuner. The movie's video game also states he is left handed. From these examples it is clear that Phineas is left handed, but in "Don't Even Blink" he was shown to be ambidextrous as he played the guitar with both hands.
  • It's revealed that Jeremy is 16, one year older than Candace as she is 15.
  • Phineas notices how Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated building looks similar to Ferb's head.
  • Right before "Brand New Reality", Ferb has a scared expression.
  • A Goozim makes another appearance. Goozims previously appeared in "Got Game?" and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!".
  • During the song Everything's Better with Perry, Perry is referred to as a monotreme for a third time ("Swiss Family Phineas", "Misperceived Monotreme") and the second time onscreen. ("Swiss Family Phineas")
  • The "Homer's Odyssey" is seen again. It was previously seen in "Magic Carpet Ride".
  • Like in "Interview With a Platypus", Phineas and Ferb imitate Perry's chatter again.
  • This is the fifth time a much younger Phineas is seen, while it is the third for Ferb. Previous instances are in "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!", "Oh, There You Are, Perry", "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You! " and "Ain't No Kiddie Ride".
  • Monogram says, "Behind you, rising dramatically from the floor" again. He first said it in "Tip of the Day".
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz-1 makes a fake Perry the Platypus (Pretendy the Practicepus). The first time was in "Just Passing Through" when he made "Bobblehead Perry the Platypus".
  • The man that is driving the tow was seen in "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!" while the tow was seen in"Hip Hip Parade".
  • Despite having a previous encounter in Candace's dream from "Wizard of Odd", and seeing him through a reprogrammed video game in "Brain Drain", this is the first time Phineas and Ferb actually meet Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
  • This is the second time inter-dimensional travel is mentioned ("Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo").
  • Much like in "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World", "Vanessassary Roughness", and "She's the Mayor", Doofenshmirtz's Inator is related to dimensions.
  • This is second time Phineas and Ferb's Invention hit Doofenshmirtz' Inator, first was in "Candace's Big Day".
  • This is the second time Dr. Doofenshmirtz has been seen as the ruler of a Tri-state Area since "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo".
  • Doofenshmirtz refers Monogram as "Francis" again. He first called him "Francis" during "Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown".
  • Doofenshmirtz-1 interacts with himself for the second time. The first is in "Run Away Runway" when he made clones of himself.
  • The song Brand New Best Friend is the third song in which two people appear getting dressed as different characters. The others were "Hey Ferb" from "Rollercoaster: The Musical!" and Just the Two of Us from "Canderemy".
  • Doofenshmirtz and 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz sing together, the second time someone does a duet with himself/herself, the first being Candace during Me, Myself and I in "Split Personality".
    • However, this is the first time this happens with two or more characters in a single episode (Phineas and Ferb in Summer (Where Do We Begin?). This is also the first time this happens more than once in a single episode/song.
  • This is the fourth time Phineas and Ferb see Perry as a secret agent but the first time they don't mistake him for something else and know it's really Perry. They previously mistaken him for a toy in "Toy to the World". They once saw him in "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!", but since the episode took place in Perry's dream, it didn't actually happen. They also mistaken him for a video-game character in "Brain Drain".
  • Succeeding "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!", this is the second time Phineas gets genuinely angry about something.
  • The skull that Perry gets his feet stuck in after they jump out the window has the same horns as Mr. Doofenshmirtz's headgear.
  • This is the third time that Phineas and Ferb interact with Norm since "Greece Lightning" and "Traffic Cam Caper".
  • Ferb carries a handkerchief with him, as does his other dimension counterpart, seen when other dimension Phineas is hugging Perry. Ferb previously brought a handkerchief in "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!".
  • 2nd Dimension Isabella's uniform looks similar to the uniforms that 1st Dimension Isabella's troop wore when they parodied Howl in "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!".
  • Following "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo","Split Personality", "Rollercoaster: The Musical!", and "Make Play", this is the fifth time that two or more Candace's or someone identical to her are seen.
  • Doofenshmirtz-2 says "I've got you and your little friends, too," parodying The Wizard of Oz, the same way Doofenwitch said "I'll get you, and your little platypus too" in "Wizard of Odd".
  • Doofenshmirtz-2 has problems for seeing the hour of his watch much like his 1st Dimension counterpart in "Elementary My Dear Stacy".
  • Candace mentions that something weird is not the weirdest thing. ("Wizard of Odd")
  • The "If I had a nickel" line is used again. The line was previously used in "Wizard of Odd" and "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!".
  • Doofenshmirtz and Doofenshmirtz-2 say "oh, poop". 1st Dimension Doofenshmirtz said this in "Moon Farm".
  • During the part where Ferb hot-wires the Norm bot, the Norm bot says that "I lost my bike", which may reference to the running gag in "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!", also could be an allusion to Norm's phrase (Have You seen my keys?) in "Greece Lightning".
  • During Brand New Reality, one of the dimensions looks like the same background used during Carpe Diem and Izzy's Got the Frizzies in "Rollercoaster: The Musical!"' and "Robot Rodeo" respectively.
  • Second time that Baljeet wonders why is Perry wearing a hat since "Wizard of Odd".
  • Ben Baxter from "Flop Starz" makes a cameo.
  • The man that asked the Too-Young Line in "Spa Day" is seen again, he also appeared "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!".
  • Third time Doofenshmirtz loses his keys ("One Good Scare Ought to Do It!", "Moon Farm").
  • Love Händel makes another appearance.
  • This is the second time Phineas and Ferb are seen in Perry's lair following "Ready for the Bettys".
  • Phineas's line "Let's kick some robot chassis!" is similar to his line "Let's kick some robot hiney!" in "Traffic Cam Caper".
  • Candace sees Perry as an agent again. She previously saw him in "The Ballad of Badbeard", "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!", "Leave the Busting to Us!", "Bowl-R-Ama Drama", and "Wizard of Odd". However, this is the first time she gets her memory of seeing Perry as an agent erased. One of the other times was in Perry's dream, and Candace still remembers the other 4 episodes, including her own dream.
    • Phineas, Ferb, Baljeet, Buford and Jeremy all see Perry as a secret agent in "Wizard of Odd" inside Candace's dream.
    • Candace would later see Agent P once again on a jetpack in "The Remains of the Platypus".
  • Animal agents of past episodes appeared such as Peter the Panda ("It's About Time!"), Pinky the Chihuahua ("Isabella and the Temple of Sap"), Agent E ("The Ballad of Badbeard"), Agent M ("Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown"), Unnamed frog agent, Agent C ("Traffic Cam Caper").
ATSD Pic13

Rover, the mechanical bulls, the ride from outer space, Love Händel, and the Beak suit appear.

  • Buford's gladiator hat from "Greece Lightning" is seen again.
  • Following "The Magnificent Few", "Out of Toon", "Hail Doofania!", "Isabella and the Temple of Sap", and "Ain't No Kiddie Ride", this is the sixth time Isabella is seen interested in horses/unicorns.
  • Robot Riot, is the second song in this show to mention a "washing machine" in the lyrics, the other being Technology vs. Nature from "Perry Lays an Egg".
  • Baljeet and Irving work together for the first time despite the fact that Baljeet doesn't like Irving in "Hide and Seek" and "Atlantis".
  • Doofenshmirtz-1 finds the model train in a box marked, "VHS tapes." In "Tip of the Day" he gets rid of what he thinks is an unimportant box, but finds to his dismay that there was an embarrassing video inside.
  • This is the second time Ferb says Perry's name. The first was when he said the "Where's Perry" line in "Fireside Girl Jamboree".
  • This is the second time that Phineas, Ferb and Isabella meet Major Monogram and Carl. First was in "Undercover Carl".
  • This is the third time that Baljeet meets Carl. First was "Swiss Family Phineas" and second was "Undercover Carl".
  • This is the second time that Buford meets Carl. First was "Swiss Family Phineas".
  • This is the third time Baljeet meets Monogram since "Undercover Carl" and "Wizard of Odd", the second time that Buford meets Monogram since "Wizard of Odd", the third time Jeremy sees Monogram since "The Lizard Whisperer" and "Wizard of Odd", and the second time Candace sees Monogram following "The Ballad of Badbeard".
  • Carl states that Doofenshmirtz made an Amnesia-inator. Doofenshmirtz previously created -inators related to memory in "Tip of the Day" and "A Real Boy".
  • This is the second time someone "Sweats out of their eyes" when they were really crying. The first was Buford in "Voyage to the Bottom of Buford".
  • Much like in "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!", numerous images appear at the end of a song.
  • Second time Phineas and Ferb are seen with military-style hairdos. ("Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!")
  • Doofenshmirtz says, "Let's light this pop stand." This malapropism combines Phineas's take on astronaut Alan Shepard's "Let's light this candle" ("Out to Launch") and Candace's "Let's blow this pop stand" ("Wizard of Odd").
  • Second time there is a fight between platypi ("Cheer Up Candace").
  • The music playing when Carl begins presenting the gadgets to Perry is the same as the music when Phineas and Ferb were teaching Lawrence how to play 80's synthesizer ("Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Max Modem!").
  • Second time Doofenshmirtz (or his counterpart) calls his guards ("Wizard of Odd").
  • Second time someone's memory is wiped to preserve Perry's identity ("I Was a Middle Aged Robot").
  • In "Brand New Best Friend", Doofenshmirtz sings "Comin' at you Fridays!" Phineas and Ferb's regular timeslot is Friday nights on Disney Channel.
  • This is the second time Phineas imitates the crowd cheering, the first was "The Chronicles of Meap", though this time, he's actually shown doing it.
  • Only five of the songs in the movie (counting Mysterious Force) are sung by characters onscreen, the rest were just background songs. This marks the second least amount of songs sung by someone onscreen in a special, the least was "Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel" with only one song.
  • The movie takes place sometime during the events of the third season.
  • Despite being one of the characters who has their memory wiped with the Amnesia-inator at the end of the film, Stacy uncovers Agent P again in "Happy Birthday, Isabella".
  • On Netflix, after Phineas says "So far, it's not going as well as we hoped", the screen fades to black as the end-of-episode guitar sound plays.
  • It is unknown why Doofenshmirtz had to get his mind erased along with Phineas, Ferb, and the gang at the end of the movie as he is already aware that Perry is a secret agent, although this could be so he does not have the idea to create another invention to an alternate dimension again.
    • It is also possible, that he had to get his mind erased so that he could forget about Perry's owners and never interact with them again and keep the secret agent identity safe this way since he wouldn't know about the pet side of Perry's double life, while the rest of the people who had their minds erased had to forget about the agent side of Perry's double life.
  • This is the second time Perry's litter box is mentioned ("Phineas and Ferb Hawaiian Vacation").
  • On Disney+, the version that is shown is the Disney Channel broadcast version.

  • One of the zombies has the same hairstyle as Doofenshmirtz's ex-girlfriend ("Chez Platypus").
  • This is the second episode to not show Candace's normal hair ("Got Game?").

  • In 2023, Disney Television Animation ranked this episode as their #8 most spooky episode on their Twitter page.[3]

The Curse of Candace

  • Phineas remarks how it seems to be more than 104 days since the start of their summer, which is intended to poke fun at the show's nature and continuity.
  • Candace is startled to see a steak, which may be because of the similarity between the words "steak" and "stake", the latter of which being a weapon used to kill vampires.

A Phineas and Ferb Family Christmas

  • The cabin depicted on the calendar is the one Phineas and Ferb are in.
  • More of Isabella's family appears in this episode, including Nana Shapiro ("Lotsa Latkes") and possibly her father.
  • This episode happened sometime in July.
  • This episode has sometimes been paired with the Season 1 episode "S'Winter". This is because of the necessity that Disney has that episodes regularly air within 30 minute time slots, and S'Winter fills in an extra 15 minutes of the time slot on the channel.
  • Isabella wore the most winter outfits than all of her other winter episodes combined.
  • It is possible the line "12th annual Phineas and Ferb Family Christmas" reveals Phineas and Ferb might be at least twelve years old, or it could have just been part of their effort to make it seem more realistic.
    • It is also possible that 12 years is about the time that Lawrence and Linda have been married for.
  • Isabella's hair style is different during the second verse of "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow".
  • It is unknown why Isabella's lines in "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" in the Latin-American version got switched.
  • This episode marks the first time Vivian appears in Season 3.
  • Irving can play the French horn.
  • This is the second Christmas episode of the series. The first was "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation!".
  • This is the third time the boys do something to cool off. Previously were in "Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror" and "S'Winter".
  • Isabella wears similar clothes that she wore in "S'Winter". The winter hat she wears at the end credits is the same one she wore in "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation!"
  • Phineas says that this is the best Christmas ever, in the same way that Doofenshmirtz said in "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation!".
  • Carl salutes again like in "Swiss Family Phineas" and "Undercover Carl".
  • Carl takes part of one of Phineas and Ferb's ideas again ("Undercover Carl").
  • Fourth time someone of the Flynn-Fletcher family (excluding Perry) sees Carl ("Comet Kermillian", "Undercover Carl", Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension). Also, this is the 4th time someone of their friends see him ("Undercover Carl", "Swiss Family Phineas", Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension).
  • Doofenshmirtz also made a Transportinator in the game Transport-inators of Doooom!.
  • This is the second time Isabella plays a violin. She played the violin during "Let's Take A Rocketship To Space" on "Out to Launch".
  • Since "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation!" occurs in the winter after this summer, Doofenshmirtz has not yet been given a reason to hate Christmas and it's reasonable for him to want to get his "yuletide on."
  • This is the sixth episode with the song continued in the end credits, the others being "Busted", "Do Nothing Day", "Hail Doofania!", "A-G-L-E-T" and "Tour de Ferb".
  • This is the second episode where Phineas is worried about Perry's whereabouts. ("Oh, There You Are, Perry")
  • Third time Isabella wears something that does not match the color of her bow. If you look closely, the dress she's wearing is slightly darker than the bow. ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Candace Loses Her Head")
  • The Disney Channel Original logo does not show up in the end.
  • On Disney+ the 'A' in the title is moved to the end.
  • This episode makes Phineas and Ferb the third Disney Television Animation series to have two Christmas episodes, the first two being Teacher's Pet and House of Mouse.
    • If one also counts Doug due to it having its first Christmas episode during its original Nickelodeon run, then Phineas and Ferb is the fourth Disney Television Animation series to have a second Christmas episode.

Tri-Stone Area

  • This is the only episode where the characters don't speak English, except for Phineas and Ferb discussing their new language, and the only time where the characters are unintelligible.
  • This episode may explain how Conk ended up frozen in an iceberg in "Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.". Conk became distracted while the boys rode by, and the wall of ice snuck up on him and trapped his foot.
  • This is the first episode to show Gretchen without glasses, Adyson without a hairband, and Katie with loose hair.
  • Gretchen is the only character who does not wear glasses, while the prehistoric versions of Lawrence, Roger, Carl, and Bobbi are all seen wearing glasses.
  • Carl's prehistoric version is the only one that is a monkey instead of a human.
  • When Can-tok runs through the bushes, her hair is briefly changed to the way her future counterpart's hair looks.
    Canduk with Candace's hairstyle

    Can-tok with Candace's hairstyle.

  • Phinabunk feeding stone tablets to Bunka reflects how real platypuses eat, using rocks in their mouth to chew their food.
  • The fourth wall is broken when Dan says Swampy's part of the episode is hard to understand, and Swampy says that's a good reason why they're doing the stop-motion pictures showing themselves in the episode.
  • This is the first time both Dan and Swampy are featured on-screen.
  • When Can-tok tells Phinabunk and Gerb that she is in charge, Phinabunk looks confused, points at the sky and asks "Can-tok in charga? Du mhakka satellakkah?". This is a reference to when Candace would be in charge if a satellite crashed into the house ("Rollercoaster", "Rollercoaster: The Musical!").
  • This is the fourth time cave-people are seen. ("Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.", "It's About Time!", "Rollercoaster: The Musical!").

  • In the photo-animation scenes, a picture of Phineas and Ferb in underwear is seen ("Out to Launch").
  • Conk reappears ("Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.").
  • This is the second time a live-action character is used, the first is Ashley Tisdale in "Lights, Candace, Action!".
  • Bobbi Fabulous makes a cameo and is shown again as a hair dresser ("Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together").
  • The SUV from "Finding Mary McGuffin" and "The Secret of Success" appears on a stone-print.
  • This is the second time someone makes a new language ("Ferb Latin").
  • Doofenshmirtz cannot recognize Perry without his fedora again, but this time, his prehistoric version cannot recognize Bunka without his skull hat ("Lawn Gnome Beach Party of Terror", "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?", "Attack of the 50 Foot Sister", "The Lemonade Stand").
  • This is the second time 27,000 B.C. is brought up ("Boyfriend From 27,000 B.C.").
  • This is the second time Perry or a version of him does not escape from his trap ("Lotsa Latkes").

Doof Dynasty

  • Ferb, Buford, and Candace break the fourth wall by knowing that there's a ripple effect.
  • This is the first episode in which Candace doesn't turn to see any big idea. Instead, she knows it disappeared thanks to Linda's dialogue.
  • Candace doesn't interact with her brothers in this episode. Phineas and Ferb also don't interact with Linda and Lawrence in the episode.
  • Doofus Khan making fun of the key placement on the terracota warrior being too obvious is a nod to his future version putting obvious self-destruct buttons on his inators.
  • This is the last episode to end with a logo identifying the production studio as "Walt Disney Television Animation".
  • This is the third episode to have the word "Doof" in its title ("Hail Doofania!", "The Doof Side of the Moon").
  • Candace is trying to bust her brothers because the technology they use for their big ideas is far too advanced for their time. Some of the technology didn't get introduced until the 20th century.
  • In the song "The Way of the Platypus", it is mentioned that Platypuses sweat milk, which is also mentioned in "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?".
  • The Great Wall of China appears again ("Not Phineas and Ferb", "Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!").
  • This is the second time a Chinese finger trap ensnares someone ("It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World").
  • This is the second time a terracotta warrior is seen ("Thaddeus and Thor").
  • The music that plays during Master Perry's "rippling" is the same music heard in the steam room at O.W.C.A headquarters ("She's the Mayor").
  • "Googly moogly!" is said again ("Ready for the Bettys", "Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown").

Differences from the fake trailer

  • In the trailer, when Balloony enters, Doofenshmirtz says "Balloony!" and Mitch says "Colin!". In the episode, Mitch is not with Doofenshmirtz when he and Balloony reunite.
  • A new scene shows Meap and Suzy fighting each other in the Bango-Ru convention.
  • The scene with Candace saying "What? Jeremy is going to be there?" is revamped.
  • Mitch doesn't say "Aren't you a little young to save the universe?".
  • In the trailer, Monogram says "I want your hat on my desk", Carl does his arm pointing, and Perry throws his chair to the screen, which is implied to be immediately afterwards. In the episode, both scenes are separated.
  • When Mitch laughs at the beginning of the fake trailer, the background is different.

This Is Your Backstory

  • Three things are revealed in this episode:

    2. How Doofenshmirtz came to America.
    3. Perry keeps pictures of him and Doofenshmirtz in his wallet.

  • First two-part episode to not focus on Phineas and Ferb.
  • This is the third clip episode. ("Phineas and Ferb Musical Cliptastic Countdown", "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!")
  • Second time that most of the episode focus on Doofenshmirtz. ("Road to Danville")
  • Doofenshmirtz mentioned the phrase "True evil is born from pain and loss". ("Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension")
  • Fifth two-part episode that Isabella does not appear in, and is also the only two-part episode in Season 3 that she is absent in. ("Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!", "The Lake Nose Monster", "Phineas and Ferb Hawaiian Vacation", "Nerds of a Feather")
  • Fifth episode that is from the point of view of someone other than Phineas and Ferb (or their counterparts) for the majority of the time. ("Isabella and the Temple of Sap", "Not Phineas and Ferb", "Delivery of Destiny", "Road to Danville")
  • This is the second time Doofenshmirtz's plan has transformed him into a large grotesque creature ("That's the Spirit").
  • First time the father of Doofenshmirtz appeared outside of flashbacks, and the first time he speaks English.
  • Third episode where the episode changes in time. ("Remains of the Platypus", "What'd I Miss?")
  • This is one of the rare occurrences where Doofenshmirtz calls his nemesis Perry instead of "Perry the Platypus".
  • 16-year-old Heinz wears the same clothing that the present Doofenshmirtz wore in "Unfair Science Fair". Doof also wore similar clothers in a flashback in "At the Car Wash".
  • Third time Doofenshmirtz says "Curse you and thank you". ("Gaming The System", "Split Personality")
  • Doof is mistaken with a pharmacist again.
  • When Doofenshmirtz talks about the backstories that appeared in previous episodes, he uses the exact same dialogue word-for-word when he talks about them again in this episode.
  • If they spent a full day hitting ping pong balls, Phineas and Ferb would have had to have hit roughly 18.09 balls a second to reach 1,562,978. If they spent half the day playing table tennis, nearer to the time they would have if they woke up near usual and played till dinner, supported by it being light outside, they'd have to hit the ball an average of 36.18 times a second with no breaks. With the length of a table tennis table being 2.74 m, the ball would have had to have been travelling at a minimum speed of 99.13 m/s or 356.88 km/h (221.75 mi/h).
  • This episode marks the last appearance of Balloony so far, not counting cameos in other series.
  • The America backstory is the only one to not originate from another episode, being completely original to this one.
