I'm probably older than most of you on this site, but I don't care. I've been a contributor over at Memory Alpha, The Star Trek Wiki for a couple of years, but there's not a whole lot of major work to do over there. I found Phineas and Ferb in the middle of July 2008. I think it's great. It's got a lot of the older cartoon spirit that makes it enjoyable for adults (like me) and children.

Happy New Year, everyone! To celebrate the new year, it is a common tradition to pledge to make changes in one's life. I thought it would be nice to try that here, too. We all need to get into some better habits and start to work on some of our unfinished projects during the upcoming year.
The following resolutions are my own for the wiki as a whole:
- Use good edit summaries - instead of saving w(…)

In the recent newsletter, there was the question of if we would hit our 700th article before the end of the year. This does not count blog posts, User/User talk pages, nor anything like the Help pages.
We had a few stabs at that mark, and we may consolidate articles in the future. But for the moment, Busting Feeding Frenzy holds the position as the 700th article.
How long until we hit our 800th art(…)

Wikia Entertainment recently added a new feature that caught us by surprise. It's called "WikiStickies" and it appears on your "My Home" page. It will make suggestions on pages that you can improve, based on the following categories:
- Articles that don't have any pictures
- Brand new articles, which often need to be expanded
- Article titles that are linked to, but don't exist yet
The last one is the sa(…)

There have been lots of people on this wiki lately who have been adding extra line breaks in articles. Please note that this is unnecessary and should be left for the wiki software to handle by itself. There are very few circumstances such as certain, but not all, templates that should use more than one line break to separate them. Both registered and unregistered users have been doing this and (…)

In honor of the Disney XD premiere of Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation, we have changed the skin to our new holiday skin. If your skin colors haven't changed, you will need to bypass your cache.
I have selected the colors based on the red and green of Christmas, but also the red and green of Phineas and Ferb's hair colors. The blue was chosen not only for depicting ice and cold, but also becaus(…)

To celebrate the release of the soundtrack, ClevverTV teamed up with Walt Disney Records to give away a Fender Squire Stratocaster guitar featuring Phineas and Ferb characters drawn by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh.
The Disney Blog announced the sweepstakes on October 27th, but the (much shorter) announcement was posted on ClevverTV's site and their YouTube channel almost two weeks later. According (…)

With the recent addition of the My Home page, the admins are wondering where everyone starts browsing the wiki. There's lots of information on the Main Page, but the My Home page has some good things to offer as well. Please answer the poll below (one response per user) and if you mark down "Other", please leave a comment to let us know how you start your browsing experience.

Some pages like Do Nothing Day have an icon at the top. This is called an Era template. Topher has discovered that if the Era template is moved to the bottom of the page, it removes a blank line from right under the page title. We're not sure what's causing it to add the blank line, but there's an easy way to get around it.
We're asking that any time you edit a page and you see the Era template at(…)

Just a few days remain in the voting for our new Main Page design. Not many people have voted, so the votes are pretty even between the two main candidates.
Why are we updating the main page? There's a few reasons, including that the layout was about a year old. But one main reason is that we wanted to implement blogs like the one you're reading now. The main page will automatically update itsel(…)

We've been playing around with creating a newsletter for the wiki. We were going to call it The Daily Danville to match the newspaper from the show, but then you'd expect it to be updated every day. A bi-weekly publishing schedule is more realistic, so the newspaper will be called the Tri-State Gazette.
The first edition will be August 1st, 2009. That's just two weeks away. We will be updating t(…)

The "Helping Out" section on the main page has been marked for updating. The "Create new article" button will be going away because that function is now available in the left-hand menu as "Write an Article".
The Community Portal will also be overhauled. As it is now, it is the default page that was created when our wiki was started. No one has been assigned to do it yet, but I'd like to do it.

We held our first every Administrator Convention on the IRC Chat channel today, which lasted more than 8 hours. Topics of discussion included reorganizing the main page, a featured articles proposal that needs to be voted on in order to be finalized, rules for featured pictures, how to make use of our new blogging tool, retooling our newsletter, what to do with fake episode articles, and some p(…)
