Disney XD has recently introduced a fun new game on their official website featuring Phineas and Ferb. Many online games- especially ones that are tie-ins for products or programs- are often poorly done, but the games Disney has been coming out with to promote Phineas and Ferb have been a lot of fun, and this one is no exception. In fact, it may possibly be the best Phineas and Ferb online game yet.
In "Phineas and Ferb in The Transport-inators of DOOOOOM!," Phineas and Ferb create transport devices in order to move around the house more easily while doing their projects. As Dr. Doofenshmirtz oversees the idea, he likes it so much that he decides to zap one of them with a duplication device in order to create his own "transport-inators" for evil purposes. But he zapped the device while Phineas was inside it! Playing as both Ferb and Agent P, it's up to you to travel through the levels, defeating enemy robots and using the transport-inators to get to new parts of the levels in order to find Phineas and stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
What I'm most surprised at is that this game is by no means a quickly churned-out affair. The graphics are in full 3D and nicely done at that, and each level has a number of challenges to try, including finishing the level in a certain time and finding all the collectable items. The soundtrack features familiar tunes from the show, and perhaps best of all, the game's storyline is told through hilarious new dialogue starring the full cast of the show.
Other networks would most likely charge a fee for a tie-in game as fully developed as this one is. The fact that Disney is giving its viewers the ability to play it for free is not only astounding, but also gives you no excuse to not try out this fun game. I know what you're going to do today- play "Transport-inators of DOOOOM!"
"Transport-inators of DOOOOM!" requires the Unity 3D web-player, which will be installed when you first play the game (if it fails to install, a link to Unity's website will appear.) It is a quick download and totally worth it to play this fun game.
A big thankyou-inator to the awesome team at Piper's Picks TV for pointing me in the direction of this game. If you haven't already, check out the young Piper Reese's thoughts on "Phineas and Ferb" as well as her fun interviews with Dan Povenmire & Jeff "Swampy" Marsh and Vincent Martella...and their animated alter-egos.
