Originally set to open on May 16, Phineas and Ferb's play-and-greet at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World officially opened yesterday (Disney's official reason for the delay was that the boys were still in school). The meet-and-greet, stationed near the exit of Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3D, has a bit of an interactive element to it to entertain the guests as they wait in line to meet Phineas and Ferb (and given the popularity of the characters combined with the fact that this is the first time they've been in the parks save for special events, there's no doubt that the lines will be long): the story goes that Cletus Filmore, the greatest director in the tri-state area, is enlisting the help of the guests to help finish Phineas and Ferb's movie, We're Making a Movie: The Movie, using familiar props and music inspired by the series. I guess it's not surprising that Phineas and Ferb want everyone involved in their fun.
There are a bunch of reports online from the Disney theme park community with photos and video. Here are but a few:
- A photo report from EasyWDW.
- Some more photos from Orlando Theme Park News (as well as some of Winnie-the-Pooh's new meet and greet).
- A brief video from Orlando Attractions Magazine.
- A report from Jeff Lange DVD featuring both photos and video, including video of Phineas and Ferb interacting with guests (including a mock lightsaber duel).
