The Numbers Game: Kings of Friday Night

As their contemporaries fall by the wayside in 5...4...3...2[1], the Boys of Summer Vacation carry on strong - and so does The Numbers Game! This is Volume 37 of the blog that breaks down the numbers of our favorite show.

Phineas and Ferb returned to the new airwaves on Friday, June 8 with "Sleepwalk Surprise / Sci-Fi Pie Fly". 3.286 million viewers[2] got down with it, a 21 percent increase from the previous week to Phineas and Ferb's largest total viewership in over 3 months.[3] More importantly, it was good for No. 1 among Friday night cable, edging lead-in Jessie by 1 percent while also topping new epsiodes of A.N.T. Farm and Fish Hooks.[2]

The new episode also featured a strong performance in its target age groups. Phineas and Ferb was No. 2 (trailing only Jessie) in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11 behind increases of 22 percent in the former age group and 24 percent in the latter. Among Tweens 9-14, it checked in at No. 3 on the strength of a 16 percent increase, behind Jessie and the season premiere of Total Drama: Revenge of the Island.[4] Finally, viewership among Adults 18-49 soared by 46 percent to a 0.5 rating.[2]

Remember, no new Phineas and Ferb this week, but Season 3 continues next week with "Sipping with the Enemy / Tri-State Treasure: Boot of Secrets" premiering Friday, June 22 at 9:00PM Eastern (8:00 Central). Before that, though, you might want to check out the preview of Gravity Falls - that's tonight at 9:55PM Eastern (8:55 Central) after Let It Shine.
