Shipping Wars No Mores
It's come to my attention that there are a large portion of you that have been discussing relationships amongst the characters, particularly two pairings for our dear Ferb. While this may be an interesting topic for some, this wiki isn't the best place for such discussions. There are other forum sites that are better suited for discussing this matter.
While we encourage discussion of the show, discussing hypothetical relationships or ones that are merely crushes that will likely never amount to much, the fact of the matter is that neither side will agree with the other. This just builds up barriers between us, instead of trying to build friendships and other sorts of working relationships.
We should be focusing on our task at hand, which is creating articles and learning to work together. Let's try and work together and set aside the discussion about who should be with whom. There are two clear sides, and I would encourage everyone to lay down their arms and make peace. The time you are spending discussing such things could be used to make meaningful contributions to the articles on the wiki.
Some free advice: Next time you feel like arguing with the other side of your favorite shipping war, take a deep breath, count to ten and find something else to talk about. Or at least take it to another discussion board somewhere.

Bubble, bubble, boys in trouble!
They're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of sap...
By SuperFlash101
Last Saturday, the United States Disney XD broadcast the two latest Phineas and Ferb episodes: "Bubble Boys" and "Isabella and the Temple of Sap." The dynamic formula chosen for them served to make them more favorable then I expected, and played out like the "Unfair Science Fair"/"Unfair Science Fair Redux (Another Story)" arcs.
To start, "Bubble Boys" was rather interesting. Baljeet's schedule served as a fitting character trait the crew added on and made him the most enjoyable of the bunch for the episode. Watching him spazz out when he was thrown off the schedule made me chuckle. In the B-Plot with everyone's favorite strait man group, Doofenshmirtz and Perry, there was a quite hilarious stint where Monogram thinks it's Perry's birthday. His hilarious flat stare and Monogram's dry realization displays some of the excellent comedic timing I expect out the show. Plus, Doof's singing country was just fabulous. I could just imagine him doing a duet with Dolly Parton - now that's Grammy-worthy.
In the C-Plot, we got to see Candace learn to drive. This gradual evolution of her character (we got to see her begin her driving exploits in season 1's "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World") shows some of the brilliant writing that is done on the show. It's quite clear she's a well-off driver, but with her eyes set on busting the boys, she totally went out of control, which led to some humorous bits of her chaos. Overall, B-.
Next we've got "Isabella and the Temple of Sap". This is definitely the stronger of the two and serves as a "what you didn't see..." in the previous one. This also served to make them like the "Unfair" pair of episodes and worked better than it could have since the same crew returned from "Bubble Boys." The episode follows Isabella and the Fireside Girls going on an epic quest to find the rare Moroccan sap the boys need to make their bubble. It was great to see the dynamic with Isabella and her troop, who all have their own set of unique personalities.
Perhaps the highlight of it was Ginger's growing a crush on Baljeet. She kept putting on a "I Just Saw a Cute Boy" patch, which another Fireside Girl kept pulling off with excellent flat stares and comedic dryness. However, as a huge Phinbella fan, I'd also have to partial to Isabella's wonderful day dreams of her and Phineas in romantic grandeur. I laughed so hard when Phineas turned into a centaur and they rode off into the distance - it was both incredibly ridiculous and exceptionally beautiful.
Then, its B-plot showed Pinky the Chihuahua fighting the evil Dr. Poofenplotz. This was interesting to have as it was touched on briefly in "Day of the Living Gelatin" - again something that show's the writer's careful appreciation of continuity - and included some interesting narrative styles to connect it with the previous ep, just like the A-Plot. However, Poofenplotz was far from being as awesome as Doof; perhaps it was that she was too dry, I don't know, but she seemed really flat, like they didn't know what to do with her. Still, the cutaway to her shopping, was pure comedic genius, and had me rolling with laughter. So, overall, A.

Comments:
- On "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together": She really set the whole idea in motion with the documentary, and then detained Mom so the boys could pull it off. And not for her own benefit, but for her parents. Awww...
- On "I, Brobot": Despite freaking out, she was still able to capture a Ferbot. Not bad.
- On "Jerk De Soleil": Both the plot with Jeremy, and she wrote a song on the fly to tell Mom what was going on. All with a blotchy red face and an unusually low voice.
Next poll: What is Dr. Doofenshmirtz's best scheme or invention from the first half of Season 1?

A Summer of Song
By Phineas Flynn

"There’s a hundred and four days of summer vacation,
'Til school comes along just to end it,
So the annual problem for our generation,
Is finding a good way to spend it..." -Bowling For Soup[src]

It was on a magnificent day that Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher dreamt up their first big idea; to build a rollercoaster. From that day on, they have never run out of things to do, and their adventures range from building rockets to doing nothing at all. Of course, the show also features Candace, who tries to bust them, and their pet platypus, Perry, who fights his evil nemesis Dr. Doofenshmirtz on a daily basis.
But if there is one thing we cannot forget in this series, it is the songs. In a way, the songs are the essence of Phineas and Ferb; they can show the mood or tell us a story, as well as a whole range of other things. Some songs are meaningless, others are emotional, but they are still songs.
The first songs created by Dan and Swampy were Gitchee Gitchee Goo, Perry’s Theme Song and Today is Gonna Be a Great Day. If one pays close attention to them, they will notice that already in those three songs, they had shown what the songs are about; they are catchy, all different styles from heavy metal to classical, all conveying their own message, whether it be rather ridiculous or significant to the plot.
From there, they expanded their song database. As of now, every single episode (except for "Lights, Candace, Action!") has featured a song. In a way, they give Phineas and Ferb their popularity; not many other animated television shows combine music with a good plot in the way that the show does.
|
| Eventually, the long awaited Phineas and Ferb Soundtrack was released, a true testament to how far the songs have gone. The extended version of Gitchee Gitchee Goo had previously featured on the Disney Channel Playlist, but to see all of the songs combined into one volume was a dream come true for a song fan such as myself. The Cliptastic Countdown also aired in the US recently. The Cliptastic Countdown is a collection of video clips, each one showing a song that was one of the Top 10 voted by Phineas and Ferb fans around the world.
Let me conclude by talking about what the songs may be in the future. Well, if we wound the clock back three years and told the past Swampy and Dan that their show and its songs would become a massive success, they would probably not believe us. In those three years, the show has gone from being rejected by numerous TV networks to being one of Disney’s most popular shows. I have no doubt that it will only get better. For example, the soundtrack was only encompassing Season 1’s songs, so in all likelihood, there will be a soundtrack for each season or two. Another Cliptastic Countdown may also air in the near future. As for the rest, I guess that we’ll have to wait for Phineas and Ferb to decide.
- For more articles about songs by me, keep an eye on my blog. I recently started “Summer of Song” blogs, and I will release an article about a specific song each week or two.
- Also, if you are interested in maintaining the song articles and protecting them from vandalism, please take some time to look at the Songs and Tunes Project, which is a group of members who want to protect and preserve the songs and all of their associated articles.

Celebrating two years of Phineas and Ferb
By RRabbit42
Part Three
The show that some networks feared was too complex to be made did get made and has begun having an impact on other television shows. In the conclusion of this article, we'll explore some of the impact Phineas and Ferb has had on the real world.
[edit] Real world impact
In April 2009, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium announced that over 9,000 people had entered the contest to name the new baby elephant. "Phineas" was amongst the entries,[1] but "Beko" was eventually chosen.[2]
Disney Channel often produces short TV shows that serve as advertisments for their main shows. But over in England, Disney Channel UK has started a series called Oscar and Michael's Phineas and Ferb Fan Club Show. Two boys, Oscar Lloyd and Michael Selwood, set out to "solve the mundane everyday problems that most kids face, in a larger than life way".[3] It's a way of "encouraging children across the UK to tap into their imaginations to think big and have fun."[4] A second season has been ordered, and this time their sister Rebecca joins them, who has "similar characteristics" to Candace.[5] Two of the episodes can be watched on YouTube: E01 and E02.
[edit] Personal impact
I have always preferred to watch cartoons rather than a lot of the TV shows that are out there. I make no apologies for that, especially when we have a slew of reality shows that are a waste of time in my opinion. I do watch some of them, but only if they are about people doing something useful. The ones involving contests don't interest me. Likewise, all the crime shows and the shows where people are abusive go right by and I don't miss them.
Phineas and Ferb meshes these aspects together. It's a cartoon where the boys do something useful to solve a problem, or simply to have fun. Their projects are never done to spite anyone else. So when they have fun, I have fun, too.
I was already a fan of the show when I joined the wiki last year, but it was an episode from this year that made me really like the series.
When "The Lake Nose Monster" premiered on Disney Channel, I happened to be chatting on IRC. Candace was listing off what the pictures of Nosey really were. I wasn't really listening very closely, but all of a sudden, I thought "Wait a minute. Did she really just say what I think she said?" (For those who might not remember, it was "you're too young to know what that is".) And not long after, she was using a bullhorn to scream at a duck. "That poor duck" was my reaction. I started watching really close at that point.
I don't remember any other TV series really capturing my attention like this. There's been a few, but not as close to the level as Phineas and Ferb has.
Now we have an episode like "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo". In a radio interview for Wired, Dan and Swampy said that they had to go through the plot many times to make sure they were getting the details right.[6] This episode has generated a very lively discussion as to exactly what happened, and as of the time I am writing this, nobody has it figured out yet. I'm looking forward to adding to the discussion, but since I'm writing this part of the article over a month before it will be published, I hope we will not have it figured out by the time you read this.
[edit] Share and enjoy
If you had any doubts that Phineas and Ferb is a good show that's worth watching, I hope this article settled them. If you don't quite understand everything yet, don't worry. Dan and Swampy will repay you in the future for your attention.
You've heard my story. Now it's time for you to share yours. What was the moment where you said, "I like this show, I want to keep watching it"? Tell us on my blog.

Doofenshmirtz Activity Task Force report
By RRabbit42
Task force to Major Monogram. Task force to Major Monogram.
Task force to Major Monogram. Task force to Major Monogram.
Jerry, is thing working?
Task force to Major Monogram. Task force to Major Monogram.
Monogram here. Sorry, I was just checking some files.
That's okay sir. It's been really slow today.
What do you mean?
Doofenshmirtz doesn't seem to be doing anything. He hasn't been to any of his usual haunts. He hasn't even left his place.
That's odd.
It sure is, sir.
I better send Agent P to investigate anyways. Thanks for the report, men. Monogram signing off.

| Pages from The Book
As told to RRabbit42
Dear diary:
I got sick last night. Probably just a summer cold, but it's kept me in bed pretty much all day. Mom made me some chicken soup and some home-made bread for lunch. Some of the best stuff I've ever eaten.
Luckily I've got my own computer in my room so I was able to watch some videos. There was this one about a dog that was playing soccer, one about a cat playing foosball, and some kind of monster movie.
The monster movie was really popular. I watched it again later and there was a newer version. The special effects and sound were a lot better, almost as if they had got ahold of some professional equipment. I have the page bookmarked so I can see if they make any more videos in the future.
That's all for now diary. Mom just told me she ordered pizza. Gotta get ready for dinner.
