"Finally, the world-famous X-Ray Vision Glasses! This is gonna be great!"
Phineas[src]

The X-Ray Glasses are glasses devised by Phineas and Ferb to pursue a genuine X-ray sight experience after being ripped off of one.

History[]

The boys are camping out inside the front yard mailbox, surprising an incoming postwoman in their excitement of receiving a particular shopped item, only to get their mother's magazine. Defeated, Phineas and Ferb walk back to the house, when they are notified by Candace of a delivered box on the doorway, instantaneously raising their hopes. Opening it, the two test out their desired see-through specs, which are actually an illusion mock-up, convincing them to concoct an original authentic pair.

Compiling base materials in a chemistry kit, Phineas and Ferb ponder the fundamental ingredient for refining eyesight, coming up with the idea of gathering an abundant quantity of nutritious carrots. The brothers scavenge the fridge to acquire their parents' fresh vegetable stack, though the food is swiftly snatched by Candace, who claims that her newly-rescued bunny is more important than silly science experiments. Not wanting a further dispute, the boys resort to requesting Isabella for her edible resources.

With the necessary items in hand, Phineas and Ferb get to work on perfecting the radiographic solution, speeding the finishing touches thanks to Isabella's handy oven. The trio's analysis is cut by a scream from next door, where Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro has lost her wedding ring. Proving successful in locating it, the high-tech lenses are taken for a problem-solving expedition, after which the kids leave them in the backyard to order a supply of carrots, giving an opportunity for a rogue usage and discarding ("No More Bunny Business").

Design[]

The X-Ray Glasses are shade spectacles with purple rims and gray lenses on their normal form. Blended with the radiation compound, their inner constitution changes to display green lenses and orange swirl eye marks.

Mechanics[]

The X-Ray Glasses are radiograph glasses employing X-ray technology to yield internal imaging of solid objects. It is infused with a manually-compressed highly concentrared carrot extract, mixed with super-heated optical polymers to enhance the vision capabilities. Dipping the accessory into the solution initiates the combination setup, inserting the translucent properties upon being properly heated up.

Background Information[]

  • As stated by Candace, the boys' package is delivered whilst they are stalking the mailbox.
  • The false goggles are round-shaped with a blue frame, white lenses, black spiral eye markings, lower blue semi-circles, and white lightning symbols. Their view is a simple black and white filter.
  • Apart from the rip-off specs, other products advertised in the comic panels are a toy monkey, a Glow in the Dark Gnome, a Life-Like Life-Size Fish, a Tiny Spaceship, a fake tape recorder, a playing card deck, and an amalgam asteroid/meteor.
  • According to Phineas, the mock-up vision is the second knockoff promotion he and Ferb wind up partaking in, following a purported bodybuilding course the summer before.
  • When thinking about an element to improve eyesight, Ferb brings up a blackboard with a big carrot imprint, surprising his brother. This vegetable is chosen because of its popular association with vitamin A, a nutrient essential for maintaining vision.
  • To condense the carrots, Ferb maneuvers them via dropping baskets and stomping into the processor, while Phineas monitors the mix pouring.
  • Phineas affirms that the extract would probably take a few hours to set in; the time is lowered to around five minutes on Isabella's Quick-E-Bake Oven, a reduction of at least a twelve factor.
  • Wishing to help Isabella's mother, the brothers pick up a fourteen-inch pipe wrench, a blowtorch, and a jar of mayonnaise, but their altruism is stopped when she decides to call the regular plumber instead.
  • The X-Ray Glasses are used for the following purposes:
    • Finding Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro's wedding ring down in the pipes under her sink.
    • Looking at Phineas and Ferb's skeletons, with Phineas on the left and Ferb on the right, both switching their heads with the other's. Isabella is startled and removes the glasses, seeing Ferb on the left and Phineas on the right.
    • Helping workmen locate a giant dinosaur skeleton buried at an archaeological site.
    • Gazing inside Buford's belly to determine the cause of his stomachache. His stomach contains a fedora, a bird, a first place eater ribbon, a can of beans, and a gumball machine, among other normal foods.
    • Seeing two men inside a donkey costume and the donkey inside a clown costume at a circus.
    • Retrieving a young child from within a bounce house filled with plastic balls in someone's backyard. Ferb uses a grabber-arm to pull him out by his shirt.
    • Glancing inside three houses:
      1. Exterior - Normal-looking; Interior - A woman hanging from a trapeze bar and a man lifting 2000 pounds (907.2 kg).
      2. Exterior - Gingerbread house; Interior - A witch stirring a cauldron with a cat staring right at the boys.
      3. Exterior - Crystal dome; Interior - Aliens staring up at a tractor beam holding a cow in place above their heads. Phineas is shown to be shocked at this sight.
    • Peeking inside certain cereal boxes in a store, searching for the perfect prize, a giant metal dinosaur toy.
  • From the planning chart, it can be inferred that there are six Quality Control Tests assessed in the test run, all of which are passed by the specs.
  • Noticing the special glasses, Candace's new pet, a rogue secret agent, takes them to look underground and find the entrance to the spy lair, throwing the apparel away after its usage.
  • Subsequent to the success, the kids order three metric tons (6613.9 lbs) of carrots to continue powering up the device. The stockpile is dispersed in the backyard as a mount, and purposefully dropped minutes afterwards into Perry's headquarters in a disappearance similar to the usual inventions' fates.
